believe it or not, i dont like firefox, it still has issues to iron out for me...i use both on and off (ie and firefox) but 9/10 times ill use IE :)

What do you mean, IE changes the file extension of the file, or is it that the wrong program opens it ??
WMP probably stole the right to open all music and media files, go into WMP settings and disallow WMP to open mp3s, make sure Sonique is your default mp3 player in settings.

The same thing happend to me!!!
I'm not a big firefox fan either, and now I have to right click and save as otherwise it uses quicktime to open up any mp3 I download.
I've tried chaning quicktime and all options in IE but none worked.

open up windows explorer
goto tools -> folder options
select the file types tab
scroll down until you see: MP3 MP3 File
select it, then hit the change button
then select the program you want to use to listen to mp3s, if its not in the list hit the browse button and find it

Says winamp, but IE still opens mp3's as .mpeg files...
Thanks for the try tho! I never tried that one out before.

Try
Internet Options > Programs (Tab) > Reset Web Settings :poke:
