Definitely so for the most solid, hard hitting, basic pattern with no trickiness.

Timbaland and The Neptunes have the best tricky, unpredictable, bouncy drums.

You do realize they're usually sampled from James Brown's "Funky Drummer"?  He's used that sequence on a lotta songs, including "Let Me Ride".

am not a producer but like rtistik said neptunes and timbaland usually try crazy patterns and most of em sound dope...
dre is very very basic with his drum patterns

honorable mentions have to go to heatmakers (dip set producers) and just blaze.. when they sample they really succeed with adding hard hitting base that actualy matches the sample

His Drums and his mixing skills are the main reasons he's the best

yeah Dre's drums are the best quality imo, crystal clear, hard hitting, no background noise

imo Timbo has the best patterns, Eminem was on his way up, but fell off a bit in the last year or so.  Kanye has some good patterns on LR too.

Dre's drums always been. Even on tracks where the melody isn't all that, like "Gunz Come Out"...the drums still hit hard. "Start From Scratch" got a real crisp drum pattern too.

Yeah Just Blaze is definitely the best with puttin drums on samples. On some tracks, it sounds like it's live drums goin on.
