i was watchin the whole oscars and three six was definately the most enthusiastic,every white person in that building was SHOCKED...the three six mafia acceptance speech was hilarious, especially seein some random hoe givin Crunchy Black an Oscar, that was definately the greatest image i've seen in a whileeeee (its def goin in my sig)

I wasn't. Did you see who they were up against? As ridiculous as it was to me that they even got nominated, I wasn't too surprised they actually won given their competition.

well I basically just can't stand anything I heard that came out from the dirty dirty during the last years, with very few exceptions, that's just my opinion really, Im not saying it's all bad or whatever, it's just my taste and nothing Id like to argue about

it just doesn't match.. AT ALL. rap in general is nothing I expect to do well when it comes to the oscars. that's like saw 2 winning best picture.
then, lose yourself was ok, I had no beef with that, cause it was a) main song of a movie that was about music b) very good lyrics and c) special beat made with the help of someone who does other genres as well. "it's hard out here for a pimp" has random lyrics and is by the title ALONE already quite offensive for something like the oscars. now it's not like Im a plain square or anything, but then again this is now what represents hiphop to the ppl who can care less about hiphop, and I don't like that as I just don't think this song is any good to begin with.

Well "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp" is a song about and movie and the movie is a song about music just like 8 Mile. I mean, I don't know why people are trying to discredit these guys so much. When Em won, it was all great. 3-6 wins and its some kind of travesty. I guess if Hustle & Flow had a musical score with an orchestra then it would be more acceptable....eventhough the movie is about a Memphis pimp that attempts to rap. Go figure.

There has been a lot of songs that have won best song that you can say it's pretty weird. A song from Top Gun, the theme from Shaft, song from Flashdance.
