since the sound is different ...what do u think
-
to me it doesnt seem like the mainstream can really differentiate different sounds now. there are so many mainstream producers doing beats for people from everywhere that most of the mainstream sounds the same.
-
I dont see why not. The NY shit dont sound like it did 10 years ago and they still call it NY music.
-
exactly music changes everywhere.... it is WESTCOAST music, just not that classic westcoast music, yiu know what im sayin??
-
Yeah if they keep hearin it. It sounds different from stereotypical west coast, but still different from east south n midwest. Rick Rock basically evolved into havin a completely fresh sound that nobody has. I have never heard a beat like "Hyphy" "Hoes in here" or "Only wear my white tee once" before.

The mainstream doesn't differentiate. If it's on the radio, then they listen to it, regardless of where it's from. Most people don't bother or don't care to find out where an artist is from.
