Mourinho made mistakes tonight, from the minute the whistle was blown.

1) he never EVER should of started Drogba infront of Crespo, especially in the CL.

2) using Robben inside the field was a bad desicion, Robben could of drove at Van Bronkhorst, just like if Cole was on the left he could of gone at Oleguer.

3) not sacrificing Ferreira, and reverting to 3 at the back with Gallas, Terry & Carvalho at around the 70th minute mark, and throwing the sink at it.

yeah id agree with that, when crespo came on he should have played him up front with drogba, not replacing him. Then you wouldnt have to bring on a centre defender in Huth for the last 10 mins up front and could have brought on Shaun Wright Phillips instead.

Weise made the best game of his whole career, saving at least 10 clear chances. He saved everything, it was unreal. Then he made a mistake. But you can't forget about the other saves, man. Other than that we sucked. But that's another point and, since it's all about winning, i'm a little bit disappointed but i don't really give a fuck. Props to Werder tho'.

P.S. We are a team who has lost 3 Champions League finals and 1 UEFA Cup final in the last 10 years. You can say everything about us but you can't say we're a lucky team. This time, for once in a lifetime, we were lucky. That's why i don't really care. It was about damn time.

Oh, so Emerson was supposed to score, and he did it.

Man seriously we're talking about the 2nd goalkeeper of Werder, c'mon!! He ain't that good, he simply had the best game of his whole career against us, but he made a mistake at the end, ruining it. It hurts, but if it wasn't for him......... I know it ain't funny for a Werder fan to see his team eliminated by that goal, but i didn't act like you when Abbiati made an horrible mistake against Bayern, gaving your team the win. I gave Bayern props, and i gave Werder props. Two good teams, but at the end we smiled.

I'd love to see a Lyon-Arsenal tie in the draw, I think that would be a great game.

so the teams left are:
AC Milan
Juventus
Barcelona
Villarreal
Arsenal
Lyon
Benfica
Inter Milan or Ajax.

Attacked the Villareal team bus wit bricks and tried 2 tip it over.

Reggie thats nonsense - nothing of the sort happened & even the useless hacks in the Scottish media ain't tried to print such fabrications

A window on the bus was frosted over due to having a being cracked, I ain't condeming this but there is actually no 100% proof that it was a Rangers fan that did that - it could have been the heavy handed Spanish police the way that they were swinging batons on their horses, the actual rumour was that a can or bottle hit the window not attacking the bus with bricks and trying to tip it over, if it was a Rangers fan then i'm truely disappointed in them and it was a disgraceful action, but please don't say things that happened when they didn't

And yes I was in the El Madrigal in Villarreal for the game great time had & the locals enjoyed it, which was evident by the swapping of tops & scarves and being applauded out the ground -

http://www.uefa.com/uefa/Keytopics/kind=512/newsId=402870.html

"UEFA has instigated disciplinary proceedings against Scottish club Rangers FC and Spanish outfit Villareal CF for various infringements relating to the UEFA Champions League first knockout round tie."

Discriminatory chants and lack of organisation
"The European governing body will give attention to the improper conduct and hooliganism of Rangers supporters in the return leg in Spain on 7 March, as well as to the fans' discriminatory chants in both fixtures. Villareal are also being investigated for lack of organisation and violation of UEFA security instructions in the return leg match."

Graeme Hunter of the Daily Mail told BBC Scotland of "two ugly incidents".

"The Villarreal team bus was arriving here through the very small narrow streets of their town to the Madrigal and a number of objects, including a bottle were thrown at the team bus," he said.

"One of the windows of the Villarreal team bus shattered.

"The bus carried on its journey towards the stadium, arriving outside the principal door of the main stand.

"At that point, I'd say there were 40 or 50 Rangers fans, rocking the bus, bashing on the bus, shouting and throwing plastic cups of beer, which made for very ugly scenes indeed."

Do your research....

Do your research....

I know that UEFA are investigating the incident and that is easily understandable - I have said that it could & probs was a Rangers fan(s) but to say that Rangers fans tried to tip the bus over & threw bricks at it is an overstatemnt

As for doing my reserch, I was in the Rangers end in the El Madrigal in Villarreal

Is that enough research?

Understand what your saying, but you've got to know where i'm coming from here Mac10 that the stories from media have been built up so much by certain journalists and media outlets that as a fan it's not good to see so much nonsense written - when the behaviour of the Spanish police before the game should be getting more publicity

Now we need 2nd place to let the new man in charge for next season Mr Paul Le Guen to hopefully have a decent run in the CL & hopefully another venture into the last 16 and hopefully beyond

The sooner that next season comes round the better, it's a season that hopefully could be a very exciting one
Title: Re: Champions League Tonite!!

to be honest, rangers have had an odd season.

you don't actually need too many new players to do well next season.

* a decent striker to partner prso

* a decent CB to play alongside Rodriguez (who played welll vs villa)

* someone with a bit of talent to replace ppl like namouchi

and u don't need to convince me about the spanish police, they don't need an excuse to use their batons

altho i do believe the bus was bricked - i don't buy the icing / frost thing.

It is a challenge at the moment no doubts about that

Its a challenge that could be exceptionally fullfilling if it all goes right that is something that can't be forgotten for any prospective manager and thankfully Paul Le Guen agrees and has agreed to take the job

It's an appointment that IMO will also raise the profile of Scottish football in general as surely the european media and fans will notice that a highly rated coach has agreed to take over at a Scottish club - Rangers

yeah i agree with that - which is what surprised me the most when his name kept getting mentioned.

coz at the start i was saying no way rangers would get someone like guus hiddink or paul le guen but that is how it has worked out.

and certainly if anyone is gonna send the title back to the south side - paul le guen is one of your best hopes.

Before i even start i think Paul Le Guen is a great coach. theres absolutly no doubt about that but the way people are building him up as a messiah is just wrong....What has he actually done?....Won one of the least competitive and declining leagues in europe for 3 seasons running. Walter Smith done it 8 times and hes not considered world class material. He got them far in europe, so what? as Eck Mcleish proved this season a shit team can go far (no offense Deli at least uze were there.lol)....apart from that his record aint really all that....But Martin O'Neills wasnt great either and look what he done 4 us. A guess we all gotta wait n c what happens.....

The scottish competition is so weak. Its not even funny anymore. And rangers are shit. Maybe theyre good in scotland but thats not difficult. Thats why i dont understand why le guen went to such a weak competition and club. And i know what yall gonna say: Feyenoord aint shit and al that stuff. But its a fact that the dutch competition is much better then scotland. There come a lot more good footballers from holland then scotland. And yes feyenoord is a better club then rangers. They even got kicked out of the CL by villareal! Wtf is that. Villareal got their ass kicked last year by AZ. So its a fact, rangers suck. Get over it.

How did Feyenoord do in Europe this season  ???
Title: Re: Champions League Tonite!!
Post by: TNB on March 13, 2006, 10:57:33 AM
I don't see how anyone can say the Scottish competition is weak at the moment.  Yes Rangers and Celtic are weaker than ever at the moment, but the competition has heated up this year.  Hearts and Hibs have proved they can do something this year which has changed the dynamics of the league.  As years go by, I can see the league becoming even more competitive as young players try to prove their worth and teams like Gretna use their spending power to climb the leagues.

Feyenoord are not a bigger club than Rangers.  Rangers have fans from every corner of the globe.  Plus one of your best players in recent years Pierre Van Hooijdonk, came from Celtic.  He used his time in Scotland to become a better player and your team gained because of that.

I'm sure Paul Le Guen will completely change Rangers as a football club for years to come.  The players he brought to Lyon are evidence of what he can do.

Former Lyon manager....

Celtic and Rangers are  bigger clubs than all of the Dutch teams. Im not talking bigger as in more success in Europe or play in a better league but im talkin worldwide fan base....I would LOVE 2 c Feyenoord take 80, 000 people 2 a european final.....how many did they take the year they beat Dortmund?

Thats not true man. Give me some facts. I could easily say feyenoord and ajax maybe even PSV got a bigger fanbase around the world, but you cant prove it. And i know Ajax for sure got many fans around the world. And when feyenoord won the uefa cup in 2002 the final was in rotterdam in ''de kuip. Their own stadium. The final was sold out but there were half dortmund fans and half feyenoord fans (uefa rules).

And van hooijdonk had his best years at feyenoord. I didnt see celtic win the uefa cup or anything with van hooijdonk.
Title: Re: Champions League Tonite!!

Rangers and Celtic have supporters clubs in UK, Ireland, North America, Australia, and in most countries in Europe.  Wherever Rangers or Celtic play in the world, you are guaranteed to get 10's of thousands of supporters travelling to watch them.

The point I made about Van Hooijdonk is that he used his time in Scotland to become a better player which is why Feyenoord benefited.

Ok listen up. Right now i am in a place called Invercargill. Look it up on a map. It is the worlds most southern city, right at the bottom of New Zealand, Next stop Antartica. And there are 2 Celtic Supporter clubs in a 100km radius. I was at football training 2nite and there was FOUR Celtic tops, i asked some  of them bout Dutch football and feyenoord in perticular. And one reply was......"Didnt Kluivert play there 4 a while?" and this was from a person with TWO dutch parents!!......Come on man. I aint debatin how big Feyenoord are coz ive never been 2 a game or even met a Feyenoord supporter. And the whole 50/50 coz its Uefa regulations is bulshit, check the Celtic vs Porto uefa cup final the crowd was extremely partizan in celtic's  favour...try 70 30......
