They doing it with this E-40 project....
They had two HUGE album release parties in NY & LA, both featured BIG NAME guests, and all kinds of press in attendance. They managed to fill every store back up by Thursday when it was sold out everywhere by Tuesday night. They put out the re-mix right when all the stores are filled back up. The re-mix features 2 of the biggest selling artists of 2005. They are going to shoot a video for the single with T-Pain, not only is that shit gonna blow up in clubs, but T-Pain is the hottest R&B artist in the U.S right now. And ofcourse MY BLOCK - THE BAY priemiered on regular MTV last night, and it is going to get played again this week. He's getting radio play and making radio appearances. He will perform @ Spring Bling for BET and they have tour dates for him everywhere in the nation.
There is no complaining, they did their job in an A+ fashion. There is no excuse if this album doesn't land in the Top 5 of the week on billboard or cross the 100,000 mark. This is IT, it's now or never. So the whole West Coast needs to stand up and celebrate the anticipation that's leading to the numbers this week. There is no excuses if the bay loses either, we are in the driver's seat right now.

Although I don't like e40 and the hyphy movement
I see the bigger picture, the thing is if this hyphy thing is going to blow up,
I hope that it will help the westcoast in general and not only the hyphy movement. Cuz if not all the labels
want the artists to come up with that sound and not the original westcoast sound that I love.

the question is really about hypocrisy... why wasn't it about allowed to be about Game when his album dropped? or when a Snoop album drops?

also as an example how _not normal all these posts are_ ...WCR dont have a single 40 topic on their main page outside one for 40 show they covered thats over a month old. if somethings as big as the handful of people here repping it claim why isnt our closest 'peer' also showing the same behaviour?

Who would call him a sell out? I dont think nobody gives no fuck about what snoop does especially after he been fuckin with the neptunes like that, kanye would be a step in the right direction.

There will be an all-star Bay Area re-mix soon....that's different. This current re-mix is a strategy to get heard by the rest of the country....GaMe started in the bay and turned his back, now he's trying to fit in with the movement because he sees the potential, 40 didn't pay him for his verse, and we all see what he's doing, but who cares, he used the bay, now it's time to use him....and why are you even pointing Snoop out anyway? It is NOT the same.
Here's why I didn't answer your other "point"....because it doesn't MATTER. Why wasn't it allowed to talk about GaMe when his album dropped? I don't remember it not being ALLOWED....there was a million posts about him, and I supported it to the fullest, but after his album did drop, it went all wrong....I don't need to get into it.
Here's a more important question though....WHO CARES? Let this E-40 thing have its shine....what else is there to talk about in such an IMPORTANT week for the West Coast? yea let's start wondering if DJ Quik might drop another album like it fuckin matters....man, GET UP ON THE HYPE!!!!

You guys are really starting to sound like nerds, this is a FORUM which is made for discussion and what is the major discussion going on everywhere in the West Coast right now? E-40 and the Hyphy Movement. So either accept it or go to the Outbound Connections where you won't find no threads of that nature.

But the thing is, we don't have the expectations you think we have.... If he crosses the 100,000 mark, it is a SUCCESS in a MAJOR way for us. Why? Because we will have majors scouting.... I'm in the bay area scene pretty heavy bro, I know what I'm talking about here.... But at the end of the day, we haven't nearly reached the success we shoot for, so either we gone fake it till we make it or put all our energy behind 40 to lead the way.... or BOTH ;)

100k easy with this hype.. i'm not directing everything at you.. but some people _are_ acting like this is bigger than games album..
the thing is.. "the cream will always rise to the top" is sooooo true.. quality product really does sell more.. someone from the bay could drop something to change the game..and its likely they'll come out of leftfield.. its the way it goes more often than not..
40's put out a solid album.. its not to my _own_ tastes.. but as a packaged thing, as a concept.. its done well.. its just not my deal..
