Post by: The Watcher on February 28, 2002, 02:44:14 AM: Ok, this may be a bit off topic from all the "TOP 10 2PAC TRACKS?!!" threads or the "WHOS BETTER, BERT OR ERNIE!?" type things, but I was just on the toilet, so read on.

If hiphop was to COMPLETELY change tomorrow, no more gangsta rap, no more rappin about killin people, rapin hoes, doin drugs, no more pimpin etc, if it all went POSITIVE, Will Smith style, would you still be down for hiphop? Do you think any of the artists would do positive raps if thats all they could do?

Post by: =[Euthanasia]= on February 28, 2002, 06:56:55 AM: Nice topic Mighty :) Anyways, to answer your Q, I don't think i'd be down for Will Smith type of shiz but I like conscious type of hip-hop that comes from Common/Brand Nubian/Talib Kweli etc, they usually stick to positive-ish issues, so to answer your Q yeah i'd still be down, but I think i'd crave some hard core hip-hop now and again, lol (but then i'd have my old CD's to go back to so it wouldn't be all that bad).

Post by: 4 KiN L on February 28, 2002, 09:37:58 AM: u know hip hop does not have to be explicit to be good...or as young kids like....an artist doesn't even have to 'swear' to have a good song...it depends on the quality of the music....so if all rap went positive, then there would have to be some ppl that i liked....so yeah if the quality of the music was good...and good production.....then yes....i wouldn't give a fuck....i would still be down with hip hop....cos it don't matta to me as long as the songs are decent!!
