Inter eye Henry & Van Nistelrooy

Inter Milan owner Massimo Moratti has opened the door to a move for Thierry Henry - but admits Ruud van Nistelrooy is a more realistic transfer target.

The 28-year-old Henry is discussing a new contract at Arsenal, while Van Nistelrooy, 29, has lost his place to Louis Saha at Manchester United.

Moratti said: "Henry is a player I enjoy watching.

"The difference between Henry and Van Nistelrooy is I know Van Nistelrooy is not happy in Manchester."

Moratti said on the club's website: "I think the Frenchman is happy in London and Arsenal are preparing a contract extension for him.

"Hence, they have first choice. It would be a different situation if the player wanted to have another experience elsewhere."

Henry's Arsenal deal expires in the summer of 2007 and he has been linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Arsenal are hoping he will sign an extension - but if he fails to agree a new deal his fee will fall next season.

Moratti said: "We wouldn't take advantage of this as it wouldn't be an honourable move. We don't do this between big clubs."

Henry had an unsuccessful stint with Juventus in 1998-99, but is now among the world's most prized stars.

United are adamant Van Nistelrooy will not be sold in the summer, but Moratti believes he would be a more attainable target.

"Van Nistelrooy is a very good forward," Moratti told www.gazzetta.it.

i really hopes Henry stays, and i think he will. Going to Madrid is suicide, Adrianno and Henry or Eto'o and Henry would sound really good though

but Arsenal are falling apart.  losing vieira was crazy and the only reason they are doing really well is bcoz of henry.

2/3 years ago with their unbeatenness and whatnot they had ppl playing well who are now ageing, i.e. pires, campbell.

i really think henry might move.  him, eto'o, messi, xavi, deco, and also that brazilian guy...eh...ronaldinho = my goodness

Losing Viera was the key, because Henry now believes that the Arsenal management is not content on putting together or keeping a team thats made to win, thats why he thinks its time for a change

Wow! They're already the best teams in the world, man! Can't immagine them having Henry too. The scaring thing is that Juventus has potentially a lot of money to spend, and Barca too. They'll add at least a pair of champions to their rosters. That's scaring! Plus the players mentioned are still pretty young, still in their prime or so. Shit can't wait to see Juventus vs Barca in Paris!

yeah i mean messi = potentially will bypass ronaldinho and step into the top 20 players ever if he keeps doing his thing

but then u take eto'o and ronaldinho and the rest - henry would add so much to that team as well if they could get it all working.

altho both ronny and henry like to drift and play out on the left - might not work out like some might hope.

too many cooks may indeed spoil the barca broth.

Who knows? Our main target for the next season is to replace Nedved. Ballack can do it. But to tell you the truth our GM, Luciano Moggi, is well known here for doing moves nobody was expecting. Yeah, i've heard rumors about Ballack, but Juventus is the #1 team in Italy, every week there's a new rumor: Henry, Ballack, Sagnol, C.Ronaldo, Joaquin, Gerrard, Lampard, etc.. so they ain't really reliable sources. I really don't have a clue. Capello likes Ballack, and he loves Henry. That's for sure.

Honestly Barca and Juventus don't need Henry. But hey, if you have a chance to sign him, it's a must to do it.

I'm pretty sure he is going to England (i.e. Chelsea)

there is no-one on the planet like Henry - no matter how good a team is I think they need Thierry Henry

that's just my opinion tho.

That's what i'm saying! If you got a chance it's a must to sign him. About Ballack, it's very possible he'll go to Chelsea. I don't think he'll join us, that's just my feeling. The media here is insisting that Juventus is trying to talk with Liverpool about Gerrard and with UTD about Ronaldo... but you never know with those rumors.. i don't believe them. But we'll get a great player to replace Nedved, i'll put my right hand on the fire if that doesn't happen.

P.S. Back on topic, i highly doubt Henry will sign to Inter. Let's say i give Inter 5% of chances, not more.
