Aight check this , im about too start Djin for real, at the moment im mor of a digitaL dj, i fuck wit a few computer progz , an I just put out mixtapes for my boyz, friends , n any one who wants the hottest blazin shit.
So anyways now Im bout too go get my equipment. An I was this close too buyin the Basic Technics 1200 turntables. But then yo i jus realised this shit aint goin no where!
Ive decided im jus gonna skip vinyl completley , an start with Cd turntables.
Now ive hollered at peeps for advice they sayin the same shit nah yo u gotta use vinyl, blah blah. But then i realised no one really knows what the fuck they talkin about cause they havent used cd turntables, just cd mixers n shit. This new product by pioneeer cdj 1000 , lets u scratch on the cd turntables , n do everythin u can wit vinyl plus more. N that is just the first of whats too come on the market.
One guy told me yesterday he had a phrase for me
"Real DJs Use Vinyl" my reply was "Old DJs Use Vinyl , time for a new era" next generation is gonna come up, n i rekon n 5 years ma fuckers gonna be doin there sets wif laptops, n cd turntables. nyways thats how i feel,, yo holla back wit some advice.
An yo if u still aint convinced Peep www.finalscratch.com < That shit right there is what i wanna fuck wit after a while when i get mo $$ .
Cause that shit an other shit that comes out like it, is gonna be the future of Djin whether ma fuckers want to believe it or not.
I also think the vinyl peeps just dont want too move on , i mean they spent so much money on there equipment/setup , n all the vinyl is so expensive, they dont wanna change.

Good topic . :)
I used to DJ but I just recently sold all my equipment cuz I dont have the time anymore to spin. It can really take a hold of your life. It was best for me to just give it up.
My advice to you is .......... do what you feel comfortable doing. If you were to ask me Whats better ? Vinyl or CD's ? I would reply VINYL in a heartbeat !! Believe me the scratching just wont sound the same with that computerized CD turntable thing your talkin about . THERES NO REPLACEMENT FOR VINYL !!!
You have to realize alot of these DJ's who tell you that are crate diggers. They dont just go to the store and buy the new Eminem album on vinyl. They hit up garage sales , old record shops , warehouses and whatnot to cop them some old records . Records from the 60's 70's 80's etc ........
And there is soooooooooo much more shit on Vinyl . You can get shit wayyyyyyy before it drops on CD or even on the net . Which is why you hear DJ's on the radio spinnin all the newest shit . Dr.Dre 2001 singles & promos dropped about 6/7 months before the retail date . And 12" vinyls have the Instrumental / Acapella / dirty version / radio version of the song !! Thats the whole point when your mixing !!!
I could go on and on .......... I have alot of shit on vinyl that you just wont find on audiogalaxy or at the CD shop .
But if you just wanna DJ at parties and play some shit then do what you gotta do ......... and get that CD mixer thing your talkin about . It all depends on your interests .
PEACE.

Yea well would it be different if i could get all the shit that goes on vinyl on Cd , accapellas , instrumentals n all, i will be able too get them! so that throws out that argument.
Then i think ur response is exactly what i expected, if i were talking aobut cd mixers, like the basic CD DJ decks there are, But once again is this new prudct n new products like it are gonna change the game. the pioneer cd 1000 is different too all the basic cd equipment used now, that i can understand what ur sayin when u say id be okay for parties.
But Firstly for me i live in Australia , it will be definetly alot easier for me to get my releases in CD and Mp3 then vinyl simply cause its harder to get a good selection vinyl here.
We are only at the VERY begining on this cd dj revolution wif this pioneer CDJ-1000 as it stands alone, but all the other companies will start bringin out similar n better products this year an so on. The CD turntables will in i say 1 year offer FULL vinyl emulation.
The fact is cds are smaller , lighter, easier to carry, greater availability like i said. You wouldnt have too carry all those expensive vinyl with u. there are alot of DJS now that rely on the older cd decks at least part time during there set. Id also have the ability to play tracks that i made that afternoon that i thought was dope for example.
Most importantyl i will b able too play the hottest blazin shit that aint on even on vinyL.
