Dubcnn is back once again dropping some of the newest heat to hit the West Coast. To follow the Daz Dillinger update, we have a brand new track for you all featuring fellow DPG member, Kurupt. The song is called “It’s My Thang” and as mentioned previously, the video for this song is being shot early April.
The track is taken from the upcoming So So Def album, “So So Gangsta”, which from what we’ve heard so far isn’t going to be a disappointment. So So Gangsta is set to drop on July 17th 2006!

wtf, apart from Look Out It's Christmas this track is by far the best track from DPG in years! :o
-
Props! the song is banging :D
-
yeah, this is off the hook! Kurupt's flow is really on-point
JD did this beat? it's funky as hell!
-
the thing is, this song has been done so many times already. if only the would've made it sound diffrently like too short "just another day"
-
good song, they start dropping all this after I gave up with the dogg pounds music ;D
-
it's cool, I'm just glad they're coming with better shit than lately.... 2 consecutive good tracks is good news I guess, hopefully
-
I didn't like this beat when Jigga rapped over it a decade ago, and I don't like it now. The hook was ok, and Kurupt came off nice.
-
I like this shiiit...JD is the shiit!
-
Oh and it sounds like JD's productions from 98-99
-
tight shit... kurupt came off tight, DUBCNN dropin bombs as normal! good shit
-
cool song but bad move 2 make it a first single,The way the music biz is now,THey would have had 2 come out with a song like one gun as a video or sitting on 23's would of been alright,But this its my thang video is not gonna make 106 n park or grab new fans attention, they prombley could of did it as a 2nd video,But they gonna have 2 have some club shit as a first single in order 2 get back into the limelight,jd should of known that already anyway,BUt we a see how much videp play this video get,see its gonna be on so so def so thats gonna open the doors for it 2 get video play and being played on 106 n park,BUt this nigga should of made one gun or party people a first single, well some club shit then turned around and make some laid back shit,
-
its probably a Hype single...JD is a smart muthafucka remember that
-
and If Daz is coming out with a record, If Kurupt is coming out with a Record, and if Snoop is coming out with a record...whats the point of releasing a DPG album?
-
It's good to hear them rapping over an old school beat. Kurupt sounds revitalized over something different like this. But it's the same beat as Jay-Z's "Aint No Nigga" :-\ Or is it actually an EPMD beat? Oh well. Personally, I prefer Cali Iz Active. But this is not bad though. Could sound good in context of complete album, like Snoop puts throwback joints on his albums which sound good in context :)

Nice song,JD is the shit 8)
-
pretty good song. i have a feeling this is gonna be a "gangsta summer" ;D
-

exactly what i was thinking. this track sounds WAAAY too dated. i hope they dont waiste money shooting a video for this.
-
The same exact beat was already used just few years ago by Faith Evans feat. Ja Rule, too bad!
-
Btw I think JD is smart enough to know that this is not a 1st single material. Probably a street single.
-
im feelin it
-
im feelin it
so am i , it sounds like old school dpg, daz has tht laid bacc flow while kurupts lyrics are clever, hook is nice 8), daz's album sounds the best so far

I know Jay-Z used the beat but when I hear it I think about "Pimp of the Year" by Dru Down.
-
iunno i really like it. it has this laid back feeling to it.
-
It's put toghetter out of 3 songs,
Thomas, Tyrone & the Whole Darn Family - Seven Minutes of Funk
Syl Johnson - Different Strokes
Marva Whitney - It's My Thing
the bass line is from Seven minutes of funk. JD copied Erick Sermon's production for the EPMD - It's My Thing. It's cool but it's very easily done. Kurupt sounds tight over this
-
Glad to see DPG bring the heat again
Big up
-
Nice but not good enough for a single.
-
the track is dope as fuck 8)
-
Yea it's alright but that beat has been burned the hell out. They coulda at least flipped the beat a lot diff from what everybody else did with it.
-
When is the Cd coming?

A good song

This sample is almost as played as "Between The Sheets" by Isley Brothers or the drum loop from Mtume "Juicy".
Couldn't Jermaine Dupri dig a lil' deeper in the crates and find a better sample.
-
damn!...daz and KURUPT sounds surprisingly dope over this played out sample..
-
I Don't like it. :P ..........Maybe it will grow on me if i listen to it a couple more times. :D
