"I been thinking about Dre and Snoop no-showing the West Coast summit. Thats a fucking slap in the face to all the young talent that need help to get themselves established. Think about it, Snoop and Dre are the only two West Coast rappers that get any mainstream radio play (atleast here in the East, I dont know about the West), so if they had shown up I'm sure the whole summit would have gotten alot more media coverage and respect. Instead the only news we hear is Suge Kngiht dissing Dre, women, and fags. By not going to this summit I think Snoop and Dre are basically saying "As long as we're selling millions, fuck you guys". Unless of course they're scared of Suge, which I'm sure they are."

I think thats bullshit . Its just a stupid piece of shit summit like they have EVERY year . Nothin ever gets resolved with these summits. So if Dre / Snoop show up and get on the mic and say some shit like "WESTCOAST IN THE HOUSE BABAYY !!" ........ thats gonna help any ?

dre/snoop should have at least sent a message to for the summit about there thoughts and so on and about distribution west coast cats compared to east coast when west is way better.

being a 'west coast summit' you would think they would show up, seeing as alot of kids listen to their music, and ALOT of kids take music seriously. But they made their millions, what do they care now? They could talk about how they hate all their fans, think they all suck a fat dick etc, and people would still buy their music.

The fourth wheel set in motion that really caught everyone's attention was a highly anticipated meeting of the minds between former business partners Suge Knight and Dr. Dre. When early discussions of a West Coast Summit first ensued, there were efforts to reach out to Dre to have him heavily involved. In fact the initial dates for the West Coast Summit which was scheduled several months back were scraped toaccommodate Dre's schedule. Once things got reconfirmed Dre's participation was highlighted front and center. Over the past couple of weeks, efforts to reach out to Suge Knight were made. The end result was him agreeing to attend the summit and share opening remarks with both Dr. Dre and comedian/radio personality Steve Harvey. When I first got wind of this, I like many others was a bit surprised. After all, Suge has been doing a lot of press lately and had not held back on making unsavory remarks about Dr. Dre. But if there was any place where the hatchet could be buried it would be at the Hip Hop Summit behind closed doors. Many including myself were hopeful...

When he made some off handed comments about the lack of East Coast rappers in attendance. [Russell Simmons later corrected him and pointed out it was the West Coast Hip Hop Summit]. He later made some comments about gays and women who are trying to act like men. He said he didn't like snitches and made some remark about liking to eat p$#y. It was at that point that former Death Row artist Jewel had apparently heard enough and started shouting at Suge from the back of the room. She said something to the effect of not wanting to stand there and 'let the devils work be done'. Suge dissed her and tried to continued on. Someone else shouted from the audience that she brought her kids to the conference and that these proceedings were supposed to be peaceful. Suge responded to her and wrapped up his remarks

It's disappointing to see that Dre and Snoop didn't show up, it would have been interesting to see what words would have been exchanged between them and Suge. All that's going to happen now is that Suge Knight will think he's more powerful than he really is and people will assume that Dre and Snoop are scared of Suge by not fronting up at the hip hop summit.
