i think this has been discussed before but are these songs different in any capacity or was the song just called different names?
-
They are different, lyrically, and i think not 100% sure tnut here is a slight beat variation as well. I prefer 187um
There is also a Fat Joe and Big Pun cover version called Twinz which also got a video, with cameo by snoop.

they are a bit different.. i believe there is also a song called just "187" .. so there are 3 variants
-
oh rite thanks. i dowloaded both songs in the past but they were both the same.
can anyone hook me up with the two songs?
thanks

"187 Um" is the remix of "Deep Cover"
-
"welcome 2 tha viet nam california"
-
yeah 187 i think i heard it once, plz post!

They're different. The verses are different and the beat is slightly different as well. On the original deep cover, there is a piano chord on the 2nd beat of the measure. On 187, the chord comes in on the second, third, and fourth measure with it tapering off at each beat in the measure. Also the hook is different.
Deep Cover: Yeah and it don't stop, cuz it's 187 on a undercover cop
187: Yeah and it don't stop, cuz it's 187 on a muthafuckin cop

They're are three songs:
1) Deep Cover (released on "Deep Cover" stk)
2) 187Um (released on the "One million strong" stk)
3) One Eight Seven (released on German "let me ride" cd single)

Actually 187um was originally released on the dre day maxi casette single along with puffin' on blunts and drinkin' tanqueray. The version that was on the one million strong sdtk is the same except that the song fades out right after the hook while on the dre day single, the beat plays a little longer with a chopped up baseline.
