I sample drum sounds but not like melodies

it's different what i do..

if i hear a cool drum sound i'll sample it..

if i hear a dope melody i'll sample it...

i'm a samplemaniac hehe..

and i know that sampling doesn't require as much skills as not sampling..

but as long as i think it sounds hot i dont care..

Do you chop shit up or just make a loop? Me, personally, when  I start I wanna chop shit up. How the fuck can you get rid of a sound in the sample?

Say I got a badass melody, but it has a guitar chord I don't want when I chop it, how can I tone it down? I heard about EQing, but the shit doesn't tone it down a lot. I post on a producer board and they have a Producer challenge. They had a sample and this guy totally got rid of some sounds and just had the violins.

I use Sound Forge 8.0, ACID 4.0 and FL5.

Man, I really need someone to put me under their wing. :(

i don't know how to remove it completly.. that needs a lot of skills..

but in adope audition (cool edit pro) you can remove hiss noises.. thats usefull..

but yeah.. you can like remove bass sounds with the EQ.. just turn the deep sounds down..

I know about removing bass. It's like the first half of the EQ thing. Fuckin' EQing. I wish their was a program that would completely remove a sound.

I dont sample, but if I hear sumfin that I really like, I try 2 make sumfin similar. For example, if I hear a drum beat that I like, I try 2 create my own version of that beat.

To get rid of a certain sound you have to use an EQ with a low Q setting and just experiment removing it at different frequncies.

And to get rid of hiss you just reduce the EQ on the high frequncies.

I post on a producer board and they have a Producer challenge. They had a sample and this guy totally got rid of some sounds and just had the violins.

Could you post a link, I'd be interested in visiting that.

some audio editing programs also got "hiss reduction" thats what i use... it works great

Yeah you can get more accurate just using EQ though, sometimes hiss reduction plug ins take abit too much top end and kill the sound.

yeah i noticed that... but sometimes it makes the sound hotter imo.. but its different from sample to sample
