Title: LL Cool J slams Jay-Z for age comment
Post by: Mr. Humonculous on April 16, 2006, 06:56:05 PM

LL Cool J has hit back at Jay-Z for his comment that fans have no interest in hearing middle-aged rappers.

LL believes that there is no age-limit when it comes to making good music.

The 38-year-old has been making music for over 20 years and has just released an album featuring Jamie Foxx and Mary J Blige.

He explains, "Thank God I'm not 45, so I don't have to answer that question.

"Hopefully I'll be able to do music for a few more years and have some fun.

"I don't think there's an age limit. The dreams don't have deadlines.

"Just because you're younger than me doesn't mean you're cooler than me."

LL's 100% correct.  Agism is pretty prevalent in hip hop nowadays.

LL Cool J is not Garbage he's just making music about real life situations...wich is more for grown ? sexy people, Kids cant really be a fan of LL these days because they wont understand what he's rappin about , but real fans since 87 should support him and grow with him....Its like Rod Steward or whatever his name is...he aint making the same music as he did when he first started , it was more hardcore and stuff..but now I think he's making jazz, why? because he's growing musically and the fans are supporting him

LMAO, yeah Jay is almost the same age so he can't talk at all.

Rappers definitely don't have as long of a lifespan as R&B artists, and definitely nowhere near as long as Jazz and Blues artists. But LL is LL, if anybody can do it in their 40's, he could.

LL is at least 5 times as cool as Jay-Z  ... but I don't see where LL is 'slamming' jay for the comment, he's just disagreeing.  He didn't even say anything negative, he was all positivity.

Yeah, it's a shame. I agree with him though. He's been doing it for 20 years now, so why should age even matter?

And that fuckin camel is only a year younger than LL.

plus as far as I'm aware

James Todd Smith (born January 14, 1968)

Shawn Corey Carter (born December 4, 1969)

isn't much of a difference (if those dates are true).

Jay-Z didn't "slam" LL, and LL didn't "slam" Jay-Z, this isn't even news its like groupie fanclub banter. And I don't care if he makes music for "the grown and sexy" if the music sounds corny, boring, and without and taste, then it's garbage to me.
