Title: New Oaktown MC
Post by: basmusiq on April 20, 2006, 04:44:44 PM
The other day I got a hold of Balance's new cd Young & Restless, and right away when I heard "Look" I knew Balance has a chance to breakthrough. I know he's real popular as an Oaktown freestyler as well. One of my friends at my universal internship hooked me up with his  cd and it was crazy. "Look" has Trackademics production on there and its some of the best stuff I've heard from him. I heard a lot of his other stuff at balanceskillz.com it was some good stuff. Balance gets a chance to show off his lyrics a lot on this album. Im hopin he expands his audience beyond Oakland as well.:)

I gotta say I was really dissapointed in Balances album. I like the guy, and after a few years as him being hyped up as a super lyrical MC, it turned out that he can't make an album. Hooks were corny, most of the beats werent put together well, and hes really not that impressive as a rapper. Only a few gems spit throught this album, and they are far and few in between. His flow is also in need of a serious upgrade. Im not giving up on Balance, but this album was NOTHING like it was cracked up to be imo
