I've been hearing this debate alot lately. I think it stemmed from some jock on ESPN radio, some of you might know the guy I'm talking about. Anyways, dude gets a hard-on bashing professional wrestling and Eddie Guererro's unfortunate death. He also said that Football is much more demanding then Pro Wrestling ever could be.
I thought about this. Now, when it comes to the competitive aspect, of course Football kills Pro Wrestling. The athleticism can also be questioned, but the fact that a football team play one game a week while the average pro wrestler is on the road and breaking his neck about 250 days a year completely kills that argument.
Anyways, discuss.

id say football. wrestling is staged and thats what gets me bout it. especially nowadays it seems even more staged and outrageous than before when it was for me actually interesting back in the golden era of WWF. and when saying that football is only once a week and only 16 games in a regular season is a wrong way to look at it as they practice most days of the week if not everyday and the practices r harder and more demanding on the body than the actual games.

^^You should vote when there's a poll and you have an opinion.
As for my choice, it's football. Don't get me wrong, wrestling is demanding as fuck too, but football is just a real sport man, like africas seed said..It just takes a lot out of ya, not just in games, but practices, mainting your exact body weight, etc.

physically wrestling is more demanding. Even LT said it after his match at wm11

wow.... step up your football knowledge, the original LT, Lawerence Taylor.

Wrestling is physically more demanding. Just because the outcomes are predetermined doesnt mean these guys dont get hurt or anything. Even the girls like stacy keibler who dont even wrestle in real matches come up with broken bones and shit all the time, just imagine the injuries the real wrestlers have to deal with.

soccer ::) wouldnt the better answer be rugby...i'd add hockey into this debate it's a tough little less physical activity but they play 3-4 games a week and back to back games quite a bit...

Football, if for no other reason then it is real, and not staged. QB's are taking sacks without being able to do anything about it unless they throw away the ball, RB's pound the ball directly in to people who are frequently 50 pounds heavier then them, WR's have to catcha ball while defensive men are waiting to hit them between the numbers, and I don't even have to explain what Linemen go through. Despite the fact that they are covered in protection, football players are still getting injuried in ever game. Wrestling on the other hand goes out of there way to try and make it so their fighters will less likely get hurt. And, again, it's staged. I don't know about wrestling, but in football if there is a home game the players practice for 5 days, relax 1 day, and play 1 day a week. So to sum it up, when it comes to demanding, Rugby>>>>>>Football>>>>>>>>Wrestling.

broken collarbones r common in rugby as theres a lot of pressure on the collarbone when tackling. i have post concussion syndrome due to rugby but theres def a lot more injuries in american football as rugby is more controlled in that the tackling is controlled from tackling whereas in football they just go all out and the players use their bodies as missiles to knock the other guy down.
