Title: Alright I'm ready to admit it...
Post by: GangstaBoogy on April 29, 2006, 04:43:45 PM
...Lil Wayne is nice! I know I'm late, but due to how garbage his first few albums were I refused to believe that he could put out anything even half decent. But, I downloaded "The Carter 2" about a month ago, and after playin it everyday I went out and bought it yesterday. "Tha Mobb" alone was worth the money.

So, I'll add Lil Wayne to the short list of Southern rappers I can listen to (with Ludacris, T.I., Young Buck, Outkast, Scarface, Slim Thug, Juvenile...and that's about it).

i feel u on that. His lyrics are up there, I mean really up there right now. There arenet really any standout tracks on Carter II to me, it's just a solid 9/10 album the whole way through. I kinda stopped listenting to him after he made that video where he was arrested for being "To Fly", but he had been getting alot of attention and build up for Carter II, so I "bought" it and wasnt dissapointed at all

That's  surprising. I'd take Cham over Slim Thug anyday.

Word, Slim Thug, but no Cham, Bun-B, Paul Wall, Z-Ro, or even Bubba is better than Slim Thug.

I can't stand Wayne's flow or his voice.  I've really found him unlistenable since he changed his style up, and decided to release entire songs of just one punchline after the other.  Shit gets boring fast.

Tha Carter II got old real quick for me. I don't think I've given it more than 6-7 spins. The shit Lil Wayne put out before 500 Degreez wasn't really outstanding, but I still play 500 Degreez and Tha Carter (1) from time to time.

Havenīt heard Carter II yet but I thought 500 Degreez was tight better than Lights Out anyway...

I feel u, i wasnt feeling lil wayne, but The Carter II is off the hook. He made me a believe when he dropped that "Bring It Back" single, he really carried that song with his flow..

Also, u aint feeling Chamillionaires album?! Get Your Mind Correct is one of my personal favorites, but i thought that cham actually stepped up his flow and specially content since that album! u mustnt have listened to The SOund Of Revenge properly, its a real good album peep "Think Im Crazy" "Void In My Life" "Sound Of Revenge" "Picture Perfect" all good songs.

Also, Slim Thugs guest apperances bore me, but I thought "Already Platinum" was a dope record, his delivery was pretty energetic compared to alot of other stuff ive heard from him.

"Already Platinum" was nice, but everything he dropped since then has been wack (like his verse on that Gwen Stefani remix).

I thought the album was real good but its not a "Dint skip a single track" type album some got old fast (grown man, receipt, feel me Hustler music) BUt in the last 2 months i dont know how many times ive spun fly in, fly out, carter 2, Im a D'boy (u know its a great track when Baby's verse is heat), Fireman, Money on my mind and Hit em up.......Also Weezy has been Killin the appearences as of late aswell i thought he came real correct on the BIG duets album and on Santanas.
