Title: Some L.A. Niggaz
Post by: West Coast Veteran on February 10, 2002, 07:21:45 PM
On this song each rapper starts off with the opening line from a CLASSIC West Coast track. I know where four of the opening lines come from and the remaining one sounds so familiar but I can't remember what song it came from. What song did Xzibit get his lines from? It sounds familiar as fuck but I can't figure it out.

1. Time Bomb - "Now in my younger days I used to sport a rag backpack full of cans plus a four-four mag" [The Pharcyde - Passin' Me By]

2. King T - "I'm comin' Straight Outta Compton with a loose cannon" [N.W.A. - Straight Outta Compton]

3. Hittman - "Gimme that mic fool it's a West Coast jack move" [Ice Cube - Jackin' For Beats]

4. Xzibit - "I was raised in the hood called WHAT-THE-DIF' where the brothers in the hood refused to go Hollywood" [???]

5. Defari - "Five in the mornin' burglars at my door
glock forty-five in my dresser drawer" [Ice-T - 6 'N The Mornin']

Come on. Someone has to know where that verse came from! It sounds so familiar and I know it is from a famous West Coast CLASSIC song so that should make the search easier.

What song has an opening line similar to this:
Xzibit - "I was raised in the hood called WHAT-THE-DIF' where the brothers in the hood refused to go Hollywood"

This has been bugging me for about a month.

I used to think this was some old school Above The Law shit.. but then I found out it was from Vol. 10. But what is Vol.10? Is it a mix cd or what? and if it is a Mix Cd, who's the actuall person that raps this song?

OH SHIT! I totally forgot about Volume 10! That nucka was dope as hell! I remember buying the single for "Pistol Grip Pump" because they played it quite a bit on Rap City when it was actually a good show. FUCK THIS SONG IS DOPE! Thanks homie for reminding me about a forgotten CLASSIC!

Criminal_909 - Volume 10 is an MC. That is his name. The name does sound like a compilation though LOL!
