It's the second best source issue ever, behind the Dre leavin Death Row cover, that's always going to be the classic one for me.
There's some interesting shit, the reason they didn't give Dre 5 mics on the Chronic, was because they didn't like "Lil Ghetto Boy" if you can believe that. But they admit they're mistake on this album and others.
They take a look back at 1994, one of the greatest years ever in hip-hop, Nas takes a look back to the making of Illmatic, they crown Biggie the Greatest MC of All Time, (should have been Pac) and more, great issue ya'll, peace.
-
Ha, little ghetto boy's the best song on the album, LOL.
-
Yeah, surprise that they voted Biggie best MC.
I'm almost in shock.

Shit, me too. All I know is Pac will always be the greatest to me.

Pac is the G.O.A.T. to the people. Proved by polls by BET, MTV and XXL magazine. We know The Source is an East Coast bias magazine so they'll never crown a West Coast rapper as the King.

Hehe my bad homie. I meant by most people. I think? 8)

Just out of curiosity, who's your fav. MC & also who would you crown as the G.O.A.T in your oppinion?
-
i prefer biggie although they were both greats
-
i think BIGGIE SMALLS is the greatest mc ever...
-
I'm going to go with Pac. Don't get me wrong though. I bump Biggie as much as the next guy. But, I got to go with Pac. He had more raw emotion than Biggie. Also, I don't think Biggie is actually past Rakim. Actually, if you go by being a pure lyricist, I'd go with Rakim.

What does that matter? why does that have to be a best.
In order of how much i listen to them Nas then Biggie.
I hate Jay-Z.
There are a lot less 2pac fans out there than people think... the bandwagon aint that big.
-
i really like what they said about doggystyle, if all albums were half as good as this album hip hop 2day would be a lot better
-
I think I might have to buy this issue, sounds like a good one, and yeah IMO Pac shoulda been GOAT but thats the Source's opinion
and I dont understand why they dont like lil ghetto boy
that song is tight 4 sure.. much better then just about al lthe new songs coming out
like on most new albums, the best song isn't even better than lil ghetto boy

there are less 2pac fans out there? COme on now, to all the people that still get inspired from his music, and the new fans that are starting to hear his music, 2pac's fan base keeps growing
-
yeah i luv the article they made for the new review of doggystyle, ,, begenin with "what were we smokin at that time" lol bitches, and the end sayin , nobody do this type of music anymore, not even snoop , lol , true, and there was another article on biggie, then on the second page i think, they ad a quote from jay-z sayin if his not better then big , than his the nearest.... even the source said it was discutable.anyways maybe i'lll wrote ya the articles if i have time, and when i'll won't be fucked up :-*

Maybe watching 2pac turn from an artist to a hyped franchise with hoarde off sheep like brainwashed fans does this to you.

Umm yeah he was born there but he lived on the West Coast for as long as he lived on the East. Also when he first came out he repped the Bay Area. He always repped the West Coast therefore he is a West Coast rapper. The same goes for Kurupt.

Last album was Death Rows only platnum album since 2Pac's last one, and since '96, 2Pac is artist to go platnum on Death Row. Plus, if you guys live in California, 2Pac is God here. Everyone is a 2Pac fan, as even our football coaches wouldn't not allow anything other than 2Pac and Ice Cube, this was before the War and Peace discs. But there are many 2Pac fans still, and watch out, 'cause I'm one of the mindless too. I heard the interviews, read the rhymes, and watch the guy and there is no one else that deserves to be called the G.O.A.T. read my article on WC Killaz, it'll tell you. Plus, no one was a student of the game like 'Pac. He was not a battle rapper, but made Hola At Me, Hit 'Em Up, and Bomb First. He was not a gangsta rapper, but made All Eyez On Me, and he was a great mix of east coast lyrical skills with westcoast flow, and made you feel his words. Biggie, Rakim, and KRS-One are lyrist, but 'Pac made you feel his shit with his delievery, emotions, and all out lyical content. Uncontitional Love, So Many Tears, Dear Mama, Papa's Story, Part Time Mutha, Pain and Keep Your Head, tell me that you didn't feel his lyrics. Then California Love, To Live and Die in L.A., Can't C Me, Thug Passion and I Get Around are great party songs. Plus he wasn't into no beef shit, just with Bad Boy. The Ruthless/Death Row beef, he still did a song with Bizzy, which later Ruthless added the rest of Bone. He worked with his Bay Area homies, and Scarface from the south. 2Pac was out there working with everyone, and he had an energy and aura that people felt. I don't give a fuck what you say about me, 'Pac was the G.O.A.T. and without him, the game would not be the same. Biggie was pumped to be the lead because he had lyricals, and as someone once said, who else can say "black and ugly as ever, how ever, I say cochie down to the socks" and make it sound good. He was plessed, but 'Pac ruled the game, he studied it, and he was the G.O.A.T. well he was alive on the westcoast. How much more do you need?

I'ma get the new Source, but if it aint any good
there's gonna be some real trouble coming out
just a warning, as usual some cats wont heed it
The hard headed always gotta feel it to believe it

C'mon man, Pac is the best selling hip hop artist EVER. That fact pretty much says it all right there. There is no doubt he has the biggest fanbase in all of hip hop, thats pretty much an undisputed fact.
Him being the greatest ever is a matter of opinion, but yea, Id say he is most definatly the G.O.A.T..........Biggie is NOT the greatest ever, and the Source is a very east coast biased magazine, so the fact they gave it to Biggie is no surprise, but Pac is just a better all around MC, period.
Pac was/is the COMPLETE MC: he had a raw emotion that rivaled Chuck D's energy, he had the wisdom and knowledge of KRS, and he had a story telling ability that made Slick Rick look like an beginner. RIP Pac, the greatest of all time.
