I've just tried to play an .avi video-file but it doesn't seem to work. However, I've got other .avi files on my computer and they work perfectly. Does anyone know what the problem could be? I decided to install one of the latest AVI movie player files (AVIMoviePlayer50.exe) since I thought it had something to do with that, but it still doesn't work...

I've found that the best solution is to delete all codecs, then install K-Lite Codec Pack (http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm).
Works on just about everything.. but it might interfere with old codecs if you got some old codecs running in the back..
Should take care of files like avi, divx, mpg, mpeg, wmv, asf, ogg, 3gp, etc..
And for obscure formats like RealMedia files, QuickTime files, Mov files, etc., use Quicktime Alternative (http://www.codecguide.com/download_qt.htm) and RealAlternative. (http://www.codecguide.com/download_real.htm)
