Rapper DMX was arrested at London's Heathrow airport yesterday (May 13) for allegedly verbally abusing the cabin crew on a flight to England.
According to police, DMX, born Earl Simmons, refused to button his seatbelt as the plane started its final descent.
After the plane had landed, the 35-year-old rapper continued a verbal tired aimed at the flight's crew.
The captain alerted police, who arrested DMX when the flight landed around 12:00 pm.
"Heathrow Police were called at 12.05pm on Saturday to reports of a passenger causing a disturbance on an inbound aircraft," a Scotland Yard official said in a statement. "The plane landed at approximately 12.15pm and a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being verbally abusive to cabin crew."
Police said they released the rapper with a caution.
DMX has a well known history of arrests.
In 2004, he was arrested at JFK Airport in New York after a road-rage incident involving a parking space.
The rapper subsequently violated the terms of his probation in the JFK case, when he was cited for driving 104 mph in upstate New York, as well as another incident where he struck a car, which in turn struck a police cruiser in the Bronx.
In Nov. of 2005, DMX was sentenced to serve 70 days on Rikers Island for the infractions.
The rapper was released from the prison on Dec. 30 for good behavior and credits he accrued while previously incarcerated.

He was supposed to perform out here along with Kelis, Missy, Talib kweli and Sean Paul when that 2004 incident took place, tha organisation who booked him handed out flyerz at tha concert apologizing that Mr. Simmons couldnīt make it because of that some people were mad as fuck!
Kelis also didnīt show up she was replaced by Blaque Ivory...

I wonder if X is ever gonna get himself off crack? He really needs to...he's got an album coming out, plus he's featured on hit singles by Busta Rhymes and Three-6 Mafia. He needs to take advantage of that.

Asher D been out for ages, i know someone who was in the same nick as him whilst he was serving his sentence. but the other dude got senetenced to 4 years in 2003 so i don't know, more than likely hes out hardly anyone does their full sentence these days.
but whats your point? if u wanna get into comparisons, just look at all the american rappers get jailed over guns n other stupid shit. plus u got crack addicts like whitney houstin.....

Yeah, it was Asher D I was talking about, the dude who was on Oakenfold's "Ready Steady Go". I seem to remember him getting a prison sentence for firearms possession, but I don't remember how long it was. This was like 3 years ago, I think, so I guess it makes sense he'd be out by now.

Well, that may have something to do with the fact that guns are so much harder to get over there. The gun that Asher D was arrested for carrying was an air pistol that had been half-converted to fire live ammo. Rappers here been arrested for carrying big-ass pistols and assault rifles. Like when DMX got sentenced to prison because police found a TEC-9, some long clips, and a Kevlar vest in his crib.
I think rappers are more likely to deal (or have dealt) crack than to be smoking it...X is one of few exceptions.
