The San Francisco producer got his start by selling beats to E-40's camp a few years ago (he developed his chops at the Berklee College of Music in Boston). His Bay Area connections led him to Tony! Toni! Toné!'s Dwayne Wiggins, who slid a beat to Beyoncé that would become "Fancy" on Destiny's Child's Survivor.
His buzz in the industry caught the ear of Dr. Dre, who actually purchased a track of Rotem's for his upcoming Detox LP.
"I heard him spit the vocals, and it was incredible," Rotem said of the untitled song. J.R. doesn't know if the beat will make the final cut for Dre's highly anticipated album. (Click here for photos of Dr. Dre)
"It's unbelievable," Rotem added about working with the Doc. "When I heard [the song], it was such an incredible feeling. The beat he took, I don't know what I was doing that day [when I made it], but it's crazy. Just his presence and the way he's riding the track is incredible to me."

Guess Dre is actually working on it, maybe for real this time. ;)

this is no different from all the other "news" we've been hearing about Detox... every god damn producer in the game slipped a beat to Dre, seems like Dre won't produce nothing on the album ::)

J.R IS THE MAN. AN ACTUAL MUSICIAN.
-
I'm sure I've heard this before, Dre will probably use it for another album.

LOL. So he won't produce the album and he doesn't write his own lyrics. He stamps his name on it, sells 6 million and makes millions of dollars off of it. All from doing pretty much nothing but mixing and executive producing.

They obviously dont know the meaning of a producer. PRODUCERS HIRE MUSICIANS!!! Timbaland, Cool & Dre, Neptunes, Hi-Tek... They all do the same thing. And dont even get me started on other genres of music. You guys dont know what the fuck youre talking about!

Don't get me twisted, I know what a producer does. I still stand by what I say. The people behind Dre can't do shit if Dre isn't doing anything or telling them what to do....
It works in either way, as a beat maker, and as a producer, he needs to get the ball rolling.
^^ This is all opinion, of course I haven't been in the studio with him.

dr. dre can piss on a CD and I WILL STILL BUY IT... c'mon, its dre
