that cover looks hella cheap.
-
Wack cover...they shoulda just used a cropped version of the pic that's on thadoggpound.com.
-
I don't know, I like it.
-
It's not TOO bad, I guess. Just the contrast of the blue and yellow lettering looks a little weird. Well, as long as the music is dope, who cares about the cover??

well if you donīt have a dope cover it can pretty hard to catch the eyes of the general consumer in a record store. so the looks of a cover plays a part in selling records.

When you're on Koch and are dropping a single that's unlikely to blow outside the West Coast, I think the look of your album cover is the least of your album selling woes...plus, DPGC are more than likely aware that their core audience will buy the album regardless of what the cover looks like. Like I said, the main picture on thadoggpound.com is a lot nicer. Should have used that.

well itīs not like you canīt sell records on Koch. Jim Jones done sold over 500k on 2 releases and B.Gīs first album on Koch scanned close to 300k.
-
i hope its not the real album cover cuz its hella weak
-
its not a nice cover....
-
Looks like something a 12 year old kid would knock up in 15 minutes.
It's not that good, but it's not bad either; it just doesn't stick out at all.
-
Man that cover sucks, i could do better. Why didnt they use there new logo? cos that doggpund symbol is shit. The tracks not exactly great as it is but the single cover's just makin it worse. Hope the album looks a lot more professional

Generally speaking, being on Koch means low recording budgets and minimal promotion. Yeah, they're better than most indie labels in that they'll get your record into retail chains nationally, but that's about it...when it comes to promoting the album, you're on your own.
And generally speaking, artists signed to Koch are either up-and-comers trying to get their foot in the door for the majors, or washed-up has-beens who are past their commercial prime (the latter most definitely describes DPG at this point).
-
i don't like the contrast with the blue and yellow
-
when's the album coming out?
-
^^27th June
The DPG Street Team started 123471294613947 threads to tell us about it...

this some kind of sick joke?
-

People hate on Koch cuz their favorite rappers clown the label. But the reality of it is... Jim Jones alone is more paid than most rappers in the game and that came from one of the VP's at Koch. Being on Koch means less label politics and more freedom to make an album. Whether or not you capitalize on that is up to you. Snoop got plenty of money and contacts to get a hot cover done. Why not holla at Cartoon? He got him in one of his video's, why not chip him off for a cover? Don't blame Koch, they're really just distribution. Blame Snoop, Daz and Kurupt for not putting the effort in (Much like Snoop, Warren and Nate didn't put the effort in for the 213 album on TVT, while Lil Jon and Pitbull makes grips of money at TVT).
-
^of course Jones is paid. not only is he one of the best selling indie artists in America but he also owns 50% of Diplomat Records.
-
cover is whatevers, but the music will speak for itself. best album since DF, Streetz, or Retaliation

I wish they had Joe Cool do some artwork. I like that Last Meal cover. If he has some cartoons in there that would be tight.

Exactly, Koch do a great job of getting records into stores, but the majority of the promotion is left to the artist, so if they put the effort in they will reap the rewards of that hard work in the sales.
-
I think the album will shitft units anyway. Who cares what the cover looks like. its the music that counts, right?
-
i hope the tracks are better than the cover. shit is garbage
-
not bad at all.....i actually liked the cover for the new york mixtape better that was pretty sick.............btw no one has pointed out that they are using the name "tha dogg pound" on the cover now dpgc suge allowed this????
-
You guys act like the Dogg Pound have EVER had a good album cover. . .

I read Suge only had a 7 year copyright on Tha Dogg Pound so Snoop picked it back up and bought it
-
im not gonna buy this!!! if they dont change the cover!!!
fuck what i say. I DONT GIVE A SHIT BOUT THE COVER!!!!!
-
At least it's not one of the No Limit cover's from the '90's.
-

hope you're right
the people that won't like this are way too picky, really picky
-
thats the official cover?
where did you find it?
and its ok, not great though
-
^On Snoop's official site:http://www.snoopdogg.com/downloads/
-
Is it a record with alllll member like soopaffly, nate dogg and the others?
-
The cover looks tight IMO except for the Cali Iz Active yellow lettering, thats a little overkill. Hopefully it'll be something like TI's album, where they put the name of the CD on promos, but the real cover on the CD is just that picture with the Dogg Pound logo.
-
At least it's not one of the No Limit cover's from the '90's.
those mutha fuckers gave me headaches lol,or was it hearin master p try and spit????
-
Shitty
-
that cover looks hella cheap.
and nasty.
lol @ the font matching snoop.
-
this cover is ridiculously weak, i'd put together a better one in a day for free. shit i'd pay THEM to let me do a cover for them.
if i have time, i'll put one together and shit on whoever designed this, YES I'M CALLING YOUR WEAK ASS SKILLS OUT.
-
they could have come up with a better cover but as long as the music is good it should sell.
-

-
that cover looks hella cheap.

haha, just noticed that
it's obvious Snoop has 100% of the say in the group
-
I dont think the cover is gonna have an impact on the sales. As long as people see the artists and the name, Id buy regardless of what the cover looked like if the music was good
-
it's obvious Snoop has 100% of the say in the group
haven't they already explained that?
-
who did this cover? it looks fuckin wack!
aint nobody on koch records with any gfx skillz to do a nice cover? just take the pic from the dogg pound website and add some letters, that would be dope.
this cover here looks misplaced, lets hope they change it!
-
I don't know, I like it.
Yep, it's a dope cover 8)
