Post by: DeaDSouLjaH on February 06, 2002, 08:10:29 AM
.itz sad to see an artist like crooked probably wont sell a lot due to the lack of production.... his lyrics are fuckin dope.
but da production team.. is  :P
meanwhile look at all da hype surrounding KNOC..of course KNOC is good but he's got Dre too..

Yeah, sure Crooked I hasn't got Dre but maybe his production team will still come through on a few tracks.

Knoc is good.  His joints on the Wash Soundtrack and appearance on 2001 were all dope.  And I love the new joint with Missy.  However, I think he'll probably just go gold.  Heres how I view him though--I think he will be a house hold name to hip hop heads--but I dont think he'll cross into the mainstream like a Nelly, Ja Rule, Snoop Dogg, Jay Z, Nas, or even a Fabolous.  He'll be somewhere around Jadakiss in terms of recognition.

theres alot of eastcoast  lyracists who don't sell and have to deal with 2 bit producers and so called producers ....so it's nothing new.

but it is sad to be a westcoast artist a fairly popular one at that and have shitty production like Crook does

like i said we'll probably see an equal amount of OVERALL quality from crook and Knoc

crook-dope lyrics....shitty generic gangster beats

knoc-dope production....average lyracism

Who ever made this topic is a fucking idiot.  im looking forward to Crooked I's production because albums produced by one person are usually classics especially if its a debut from the artist and the producer.  And fuck Knocks production! Battlecat, and all those other guys.  Wow, nothing you havn't heard before.  Its just another Restless LP.  Nothing you havn't heard before.  Crooked I will have some old school gangsta trade mark west coast beats.  You guys say how Bizzy Bones album was a classic and that album was produced by Crook's producer Darren Vegas.  Makaveli had some off the best beats and it was produced by young cats from tha row.  I say Crooks production will be some of the best in a while.  Dont judge this album by that shit on tgfr and chronic 2000.  He been working on this album for like 2 years, he said he wont stop until hes at jay-z's and snoops level.  I dont think hes gonna put out some weak ass shit.  Yall are gonna be suprised.

u know knock is a above average rapper in my eyes....not all that specail but above average and with dre by his side, people will automcatically think his better than what he may be but wha i like about the nigga is even though i aint all down with his wierd but unique flow yet, his lyrics(which aint really all that, but still good) stand out cuz of his viove....while crooked i comes sharp from the start to end and had a good flow, but both will sell decent but i dont think either will sell loads. i wouldnt even be shocked if crooked sells more than knock cuz of his first single with sisqo while knocks first single is good but isnt as strong cuz missy fucks it up i reckon.

What do you mean by "just go gold"? If Knocturn'al sells 500,000 albums I will be shocked.

dude crook's lyrics are dope but he will have shit production if his production is like his first single  ...that song is an embarrassment

IMO sisqo an that beat fuck up that song FAR more than what missy did on knoc's single (which is "Rated Next" on BET which means they're going to be pushing it like they did with India Arie, Alicia Keys, Craig David, Musiq Soul Child, Jill Scott, ect. )

i know my production, and i heard crook's single and heard his production team on UTEOT and they suck and are going to be a detriment to his album

deal with it....i'm not hating on crook at all but those are the straight up facts

just cuz crook has skill doesn't mean the people producing his album will. don't overcompinsate .

they haven premiered crooks video yet.  An having one producer produce an entire album is the best to that faggot who wrote that shit.  doggystyle, chronic, dogg food

Sorry, I'm not faggot, look somewhere else.

Dre produced Doggystyle & Chronic, and he could make a classic out of ANYTHING if he produced the whole album. Doggfood is no classic in my opinion.

Claiming that a album will be a classic because ONE producer produced all the tracks, and because it's a debut-cd is straight-up ignorant. It's the total that matters, and not factors like:"It's his debut-cd, so it must be good"
or "yo, Above the Law made all the tracks, so it's a guaranteed classic".
Who knows how many wack debut-cd's different artist have put out through the years?

I'm not feeling him all that much either. I think he isnt really awful but i still dont see why everyone on heres marking out over him. The only thing he has making him sound decent is Dre's beats.
