Well, what can I say?
Flawless production from Cold 187um (and Lay Law??), unskippable tracks, great guestlist: 2pac, Money B,Kokane, MC Ren, Eazy-E.
Definately a Classic in my book. What y'all think?

I never really felt this album. To me, the production was too chaotic - if Dre did steal the musical ideas for The Chronic, at least he smoothed the sound out more.
I actually think this is one of the weaker ATL albums. Just my opinion tho :)
-
it does sound dated in places.. but its still nice too :)
-
I've had this on my Walkman for months now and just skipped through the tracks; nothing really grabbed me.
I suppose it takes a few listen-thru's to appreciate it, as the sound is quite raw.
-
I really enjoy alot of cuts on this record. I think Hutch has gotten what truely is "G-Funk", he mixes rap with raw funk samples (Warren G's style might be more Jazz-funk like) and it makes for a truely compelling experience.
-
i think Uncle Sam's Curse is a better album... altough there were some great songs on Black Mafia Life too...
-
i thought it was a great album...not a classic but great...."me vs. my ego" is favorite...especially when hutch drops that reggae shit...
-
Great album indeed...like someone above said, even if Dre did jack G-Funk from Big Hutch, he still did it far better than Hutch. This is probably my favorite ATL album, except for maybe their debut.
-
ya its a tite cd.. id ont think i can bump it from front 2 back without skippin a track though.. but Hutch tears up Never Missin a Beat!
-
some classics on here, it does sound a little dated now and USC was ALOT better in my opinion, but with tracks like "why must i be like that", the CLASSIC "vsop" and "call it what you want" I can bump this anytime
-
mos def a classic
at first i wasn't feeling it coz i had the Chronic in the back of my mind when i was listening to it, comparing how differently the samples has been flipped to what i was used to hearing on the Chronic
after a few more spins i realised how tight the CD was
i think the best songs are Call It What You Want and Game Wreck-Oniz-Iz Game

Black Mafia Life was a very good album.
