Fortune holds talks with Celtic
South Africa international Quinton Fortune has held talks with Celtic but the versatile midfielder is keeping his options open.
The 29-year-old, who has been released by Manchester United, told the Sunday Mail: "I was in Glasgow to see things for myself and it was terrific.
"Celtic are one of the greatest clubs in the world - the history and passion around the place is unbelievable."
"There are a few clubs involved but I can't say too much at the moment."
The former Atletico Madrid player, who can play in the middle of the park or at left-back, was contacted by ex-Old Trafford team-mate Roy Keane.
"Keano phoned me up - we were friends at United," he continued.
"I don't want to make too much of a comment or be disrespectful to Celtic because I haven't had a medical or signed anything."
"But, from what I saw of them, it would be an honour to play there."
Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell will continue talks with Fortune's agent, Francis Martin, next week.
But the player's representative also maintained the trip north was not official. Martin said: "Nothing was discussed about contracts, finances or anything."
"It was just a cup of tea and a look around the place. Quinton flew up and flew straight back."
"But we will carry on talking through this week when Peter Lawwell is back."

he also played in centre mid against AC Milan the season before last, a very versatile player

Has he played enough football in the last few years to make one position his own ???
Seems rather injury prone, only played 169 games since 1995/96 when he started at Athletico Madrid (that includes 81 games for Athletico Madrid B)
Will he be value on a no doubt highly paid contract?
