Title: Fell off?
Post by: NthShore on June 01, 2006, 06:37:02 AM

What happened to Onyx?  Just saw "shut em down" with dmx for the first time in a while. Gold song.  I know he released a DVD early this year, but am i just a young cat and think he was underrated or did he peak years ago? ? ? i havent heard much buzz about him since those 'slam' days

Feel  free to let me know if ive been hiding under a rock.   ??? :-\ ???

First of all onyx isn't just one person, it was a group.  Second, as far as i've seen one of them is set to play blade in the television series.

Yeah, Sticky Fingaz became a pretty successful actor after Onyx fell apart.  QHe's had roles in a whole bunch of F/X's shows, including "The Shield" and "Over There".  Fredro Starr, of course, is also acting a lot - he was Q on "Moesha" for several years.

To make a long story short, Onyx just never lived up to "Slam", but they still put out some banging material.  "All We Got Iz Us" is quite possibly the best hardcore rap album of the 90s' that nobody else bought...if you ever find that record, cop it.

What was the name of that show he played on about a record company? Anyone remember? I think it was on UPN.
