ok man , no pb I thought it was another France vs England beef  ;D but yeah I don't deny the fact we were horrible... our passing game was way too slow... anyway I'm not confident because some great players don't even make the roster... we just have the worst national coach of our history and some players are too old (Zidane is the best example)

Somebody please explain me why Trezeguet didn't start.

"Meanwhile for France, ever-unpopular manager Raymond Domenech had for once bowed to public demand by dropping David Trezeguet, who has never really gelled with Thierry Henry, and handing a full debut to 23-year-old wing-wizard Franck Ribéry."

BTW, why hasn't Ludovic Giuly been selected? An injury surely?

Trezeguet is a monster infront of goal, how he can field Wiltord over David is beyond me.
Title: Re: The Official Group G Thread (France, Switzerland, Korea, Togo)
Post by: Antonio_ on June 13, 2006, 03:35:58 PM
Domenech is a fucking moron.
Trezeguet is the all-time foreigner Juventus scorer ever and he is the best scorer of Serie A of the last decade in terms of goals per game.
He doesn't have to prove shit.

Yeah the coach is an idiot. Not putting Trezeguet, Guily and Coupe in is a fucking joke. Henry was shit today.

No, Giuly, Micoud, Pires and Anelka didn't make the roster for some reasons...  I told you Domenech was dumb

I don't think it was so much Henry being shit, but the lack of support from his side.
he needs a partner to take some of the work-load from him, he's gotta start Trezeguet alongside him next game.

Domenech has it all so wrong..

He has one of the most prolific strikers in Europe sitting on the bench until the 90th minute, why?

& what a suprise S.Korea's goal was down to a Barthez error once more, no wonder Coupet was pissed.
talking about goal'keepers, yes he had an injury leading up to the tournament- but Sebastien Frey of Fiorentina has been one of the best 'keepers in Serie A for a good 3+ seasons now, and still he has this clown #1?
Laughable..

There's alot of talent still available to France, but with this clown as coach.. France won't pass the Last 16 this WC.

sounds like he's trying the "works a a team" theory.. also sounds very stupid.. haha

he's probably made the henry/trezeguet situation worse by keeping them apart..

they're supposed to be professional men right? not fucking kids.

yep they started their carreer together in Monaco.. they 're nothing wrong between them, Domenech is just the dumbest national coach of the history

He was very disappointed.
Damn that moron praised him like 24 hours a day to force him to return to play for the national team and that's the respect he paid?

That's not the point. The point is you don't replace somebody (expecially Zidane) at 91'. It's frustrating both for him and for the guy who enters instead of him (Trezeguet). He fucked up their morale and he made himself look like a moron.

well, the man point imo is that we still live in the past, like still counting on Zidane, Thuram... who just came back from retirement, ok they were part of a great team and generation but we have to move on imo... Then the coach is horrible, we actually never played during 2 years in the qualifications stage with the same team which began against Switz... so we have no coherent team., no passing game. To finish , there is an inner pb, lots of players don't seem to be that motivated for a WC.. still related topbs between the coach n players

There are no haters. They deserved it. Normally France would win this group easily, but since France played like ass and Switserland was better than South Korea and Togo, they deserved the win in the group (http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/Themes/dubcc/images/post/thumbup.gif)
