i mean, i know dre had confidence in him... but i doubt he would sign him for 7+ years... why was em still on AM for encore/curtain call? did he agree to another contract or what? cuz its not like he cant get beats from dre just cuz he left AM or anything
-
good home for him?
-
Because he sells a lot of records
-
yeah, lol, i get that part... but people dont buy records cuz they check to see what label its on (hopefully)... if he had the exact same production and everything... couldnt he just put it 100% on shady records? make more money on his part... he could just gvie dre a little cut and theres a ton more money for em
-
Em has said a few times in the past that the money's not important to him, he doesn't spend alot of what he gets incase some bad shit happens and he ends up needing it for some reason or another. my guess is out of loyalty to Dre, since Dre "saved his life", he probably feels like he owes it to him, as it stands now im pretty sure he doesn't have a contract with Aftermath since he fulfilled the album deal (4 i think it was), hence why he's gone into "retirement"
-
yeah...or maybe pac was right and dre really just does give good head
-
well, it seems em just "vanished."
-
Vanished? I thought there was a new Eminem mixtape coming out. Whoo Kid was babbling about it on MTV.com sometime.
-
its not a business thing, it might be a loyalty thing. But its probably because Dre and Em are good friends. They been working together for 7 years, they think similar, etc.

dre should drop him, his a garbage artist, lol
no but really though, em knows he aint shit without dre, thats why his still on the label, plus like the other cats said they probably good friends and shit, how he gonna leave?
on the real though about em as an artist.........its pretty sad that the cat has to retire after 4 albums cuz he aint got shit to write about no mo........his been spittin the same shit for way to long, he was a great lyricist at his peak but his a horrible artist.........cuz once his out his own little space he aint shit.........
he needs to make another album and come new
-
no but really though, em knows he aint shit without dre,
wow, lol this statement may have been true at the start of eminems career but right about now im pretty sure eminem could do just as well without dre.

em can sell records without dre, but he aint shit without him........
-
really? i mean i know em still isnt at the production level of dre but his come along way, most of (maybe all?) the singles from encore were produced by em..
respect your opinion tho.
-
well, it seems em just "vanished."
I read that he was suffering from depression because of Proof's death. Music is probably the last thing on his mind at the moment.
-
loyality i think, well he had a 4 album deal, or a 6 album deal not sure
we'll know when any thing is about to change
em doesnt make his label situation out that much any way
he aint 50, all that behind the door business stays there not all over his music and mixtapes
-
yeah i understand that theyre good friends and everything, lol... but snoop dogg has been working with cube/wc alot lately... theyre not on the same label and they can still do the exact same thing as em/dre can... i just dont understand why, when em can executive himself, he has dre do it... dre's a busy guy, with detox and all now, so wouldnt it actually be BETTER for both of them at this point...?
this has nothing to do with friendship... alot of rappers are still friends but on different labels, whether they started on the same label or not... if theyre true friends, em leaving AM wouldnt affect their friendship at all

Exactly.

7+ album deals are not unusual.

he won't come back to the status that he used to be.
