Kobe Bryant has privately asked the Lakers to make a run at Clippers free agent guard Sam Cassell, according to AM 570's David Vassegh. Cassell would like to return to the Clippers but so far they haven't given him more than a one-year offer.

If it was private, how do we know he said that to the Lakers front office? :D...
Sam played really good last season but he'll probably end up being a nother Vlade or Aron Mckie.

I highly doubt it...Sam is still performing at high levels...Aaron McKie was already on a mad decline when we signed him...Vlade Divac as well...I believe Sam has AT LEAST 2 years left in his tank, and that's the offer we'd give him...2 years for the MLE...PeACe.

It would be sick if we signed him.
-
i would love it if sam signed to a REAL L.A. team
-
Damn this would improve the Lakers so much

Man, i'm partially shocked about the injuries of Vlade and Aaron too, but we gotta be positive. I don't believe this shit. Cassell is a great PG, and i'd love to see him in purple & gold.

Sam Cassell is a winner. He'd bring some needed veteran leadership to the Lakers. I think that would be a great move from the Lakers perspective.

He aint going nowhere, He's staying with the best team in LA. why go to the 2nd place team?

I agree we all know if the Clippers keep Sam they are much better than the Lakers but Im not so sure the Clips are going to give him that 2 yr contract he wants.

I know why cuzz Cassell wants a fucking ring.I hope the laker can accuire cassell that would make a huge differance for the Lakers especially come playoff time.
-
i don't know if cassell would be that piece to bring back a championship to the lakers, he'd help becuase after all he's a proven leader.....you seen what he did for "garnett's" timberwolves he became the true heart of that team. you seen what he did for the clippers, leading them to playoffs and helping an excellent player like elton brand get beneficial number that helped the team. the bucks were a good team when he was there too aswell, and you can't forget that he was a big part of the rocket's success with those two championships.
i don't know if he can completely turn around the lakers and get them to the finals though, there's still teams out there like the mavericks and the spurs and even the clippers that are deeper and more talented

sam is back with the clippers its offical
-
Sammy Cassell looks like a Giroose
-
i'm glad he stayed with the clippers, he's an older player and i see him fitting in more with the clippers especially now since they got thomas

lol tim thomas aint shiet, he's a post up shooter. lets see how well he scores without nash throwin him open passes all night
-
he was a good player for the bucks, BEFORE nash

LMAO...Tim Thomas did what he always does when it's time for a new contract...Watch him now fall off the face of basketball, especially without the Suns offense...And maybe it's a good thing Sam signed with the Clippers, after all, he was looking at the Nuggets and the Hawks, and then he re-signs with the Clippers for more than we coulda' offered... just how badly does he want to win? I think his interests are purely in a front-office position, as he's made it clear...PeACe
