I love this movie....from the boxing to jake la motta's life....dude goes from the top to a fuckin loser....but definetly one of the greatest films ever made...one of or if not Scorcese's best...

i love it because it's set in THAT era where 'everything' is suppsoe to be perfect , everyone lived "perfect" lives everyone was ozzy and harriett...but raging bull showed how life really was

Scorcese got robbed of an Oscar for this movie. It's total bullshit.

This is easily one of the greatest films ever made. People always mimick it, 26 years later. I own it on DVD and watch it regularly along with Goodfellas, Godfather, and Heat.

I don't like saying "robbed" because Ordinary People is still a great film, but Raging Bull was better in hindsight. However, I don't think it was robbery though. I think a lot of the voted between Raging Bull and The Elepant Man were split and Ordinary People ended up getting more, but would have lost if only one of the two were released that year. Same applies to Redford winning best Director. All great films with great direction though.
