If you've been paying attention to your number one spot for Hip Hop news, Dubcnn, as of late, you would have seen a huge amount of material from the West Coast's latest bubbling section: The Inland Empire. Just East of Los Angeles County, the I.E. has finally made it's way out of L.A.'s shadow and has began producing an onslaught of talent. One of the brightest bulbs in the entire I.E. bunch is SkiLL. He's no stranger to Dubcnn, as we've featured him on here many times before. He's grinded from selling his homemade recorded and pressed Mixtapes on the I.E. streets to working with Infamous/G-Unit's 40 Glocc, I.E. Producer WS Bugg and many others.
A few months ago, he crafted a song for a fellow San Bernardino resident, Jynxx. The up coming producer just put out his Beats And Life album independently. One of the songs featured was by SkiLL and was called "Inland Empire." Since it's release, you've seen a flurry of other I.E. anthem styled tracks from a host of emcee's from the area. But as SkiLL puts it: "It's the modern Inland Anthem for the City and County of San Bernardino."
There was a Remix that was to be recorded and produced by Jynxx, which was set to feature not only skill SkiLL, WS Bugg, 40 Glocc, M-One, and others. But, unfortunately, it hasn't been decided on by SkiLL, whether or not it should be released. Feel free to ask the man why by visiting his Myspace and sending him a message. While you're there, be on the look out for a few tracks to be posted up from his latest Mixtape that he's recently scrapped as he's began working on some brand new material, mostly due to the content it contained and the recent rise in violence through the City of San Bernardino. SkiLL expalins his music will "be less violent and and more inspirational to the streets of the 909 and the whole globe. Shouts out to Westside Bugg, 40 Glocc, Seis-One, Jynxx, Dubcnn, West San Bernardino and the whole world." The Mixtape is titled Rubbed The Wrong Way.
Before being an emcee from the I.E. was the thing to be, SkiLL was one of the few repping I.E. on every track to the fullest. He's one to watch for in 06 and 07.
