Which do you think is the better album Tha Streetz Iz A Mutha (Kurupt) or Retaliation, Revenge and Get Back (Daz). I think that RRG was slightly better although they are both classics in my opinion. It's sad that neither of these two albums even went gold. I think that RRG is my favorite rap album of all time.
-
I love both albums but for me its Streetz by far cause that is one of my 5 favorite albums ever
-
"Streetz" by a little bit more...
-
The reason I cant put "Retaliation, Revenge, and Get Back" over Streetz is because of the comparison between Daz and Kurupt on the mic. I think the production on both albums are equal but even Daz at his best on the mic isnt even really close to Kurupt before he fell off, so thats why I pick Streetz pretty easily even though they are both great.
-
2 very dope albums, 2 of my favorite rappers/ 1 of my fAV producers.... daZ IS a great producer who rpoduced for the most part both albums... but kurupt is just a bit better then him on the mic which seals the tie breaker for STREETZ
-
Daz came with an original style lyrically on RRGB tho... but ya Kurupt when he's on he's obviously better than Daz
-
Retaliation, Revenge and Get Back!!!
-
Kurupt !
-
Retaliation, Revenge and Get Back!!!
No doubt
And I didn't like the shit I heard from 'Streetz Iz..." .I still have to listen to it thoroughly to judge it

I think RR&GB went gold, according to that allhiphop.com interview with Daz anyway.
But yeah, I prefer Daz's album - some excellent beats on that disc, especially Gang Bangin Ass Criminal.
-
I definately have to go with Daz on this one. I have started diggin his record lately. The Streets is great too, but I have never had a tremendious impact on me...might be due to the fact that my copy is cencored even though it says its not >:(
-
RR&GB was more like a compilation. It had a whos who of west coast mcs. The production is better than Tha Streetz, but Kurupt kept it DPG. He had alot of guests but it was all family. Lyrically I think Daz did his thing on RR&GB. Kurupt's lyrics still slipped a little even after Kuruption on Tha Streetz but he was still spittin fire. Trylogy>Damn near any Daz verse on RR&GB. Both are bangin albums and they bang in my system.
-
man two of my fav albums of all time, two absolute classics.
rr&gb was my fav album at the time but it has slowly drifted towards streetz suprisingly due to the fact of the song tequila
im really playing tht song alot , but ther isnt a weak track on any album,
and daz's production is :o, some of the greatest 8)
well done to both daz and kurupt for both albums

Fo sho - the beat is top drawer, and every muthafucker who spits on that track brings their 'A' game.

RR&G DID go gold.....on them DR collecter sites u can see gold plaques for it
also Streetz im sure went gold maybe even platinum....i
artistst was all on the old RIAA site....they seem to have taken alot of shit outta der database....i remeber i was doin a website last year for college and i was doin one on DR and was lookin up certifications of all the past artists....
i remember Daz 1 clearly cuz Tha Eastsidaz came up as well wen i searched for DAZ
-
lol@ not even went gold.. both albums are gold..
-
The streets
-
RRG was a banger a very solid effort by DAZ...."Ridin High" and "The Ulitimate Come Up" are only a few of the many highlights of this album....Very good production and collabs came through too...I have trouble trying to decide which one is better between "Raw" and "RRG" cuz they are both full of heat...RRG easily over TSIAM..no question
-
Retaliation, Revenge, and Get Back
"It Might Sound Crazy" is one of Soopafly's best work...if not the best.
-
Difficult one...
Let me think...SIAM had tight production and some tight guest appearances so did RRGB.
The reason why I pick SIAM is because of Callin out names....
Before it dropped I was really hyped about the album and it was nice to see Snoop on a track with Daz again (although they still had some problems)
I mean damn!! Kurupt was on fire on some tracks!! (Although he had some verses using his favorite word bitch too often, but hey what the hell!)
For example on Trylogy where he spits:
Rainstorm the back of the bank, bustin loose like muggsy
Typhoons, kurupt calhoun
With a platoon of backwards ass buffoons
Ready to shoot anything that moves
Load to tunes from "the blue lagoon"
Mask on, khakis, ounced on house shoes
So i'ma start it off skitzin on the first nigga
Saul hit the stack, heard me, hear me?
Heard that, word don't pass the front do'
Before you gotta show em your heart and soul and desert eagle fo'
Explode then watch em fold, the other niggaz froze
He knew better, mask in an all blue sweater
Two pumps ready for a riot
Full baretta, six hostages with a loss of oxygen
Wet as a river, sixteen bricks to flip
After i flip these bitch niggaz for they shit
I been down with the twist since eighty-six
Hyperactive with a automatic, snappin reaction
I'm sick of waitin, a thirty-eight, i'm jackin for daytons
Kick the door in for sure, double four's rammin
Hollow bandit, ready to knock him off if he standin
Position the cannons, telegraph the whole parameter
Paralyze anything that walks through perimeter
Cervical veins lacerated lost to missiles
Interrogated and i paraded posted with pistols
Time for war this is when the heart's exposed
Change up the game, cockin and sparks explode
I'm a marksman, touch of death, ten steps to draw
And that's all, end to anything before
In a world war, off like a concorde jet
But fool, d.p.g.'s the set
In a world war, this is when the heart's exposed
Change up the game, cock, sparks explode
Manic-depressive panic and then start skitzin
Not givin a fuck while all y'all bitchin
Dis is for all my g's, my ho-mies
Flippin birds and servin ki's
I'm with king t and tha liks, alkahol-ed it up
Like bitch, get the fuck off my dick!
I got pistols, pills, acid, bomb, crank
Crystallized coke and limes, i don't give a fuck
And don't forget tha streetz iz a mutha, neva gonna give it up, I call shots, who ride with us and the list goes on.
Mather a fact I'm going to bump the cd right now 8)
-
Retaliation, Revenge, and Get Back
-
"man whata bitch, gangsta shit"
best line on the album
-
2 Classics
Streetz Iz A Mutha edges it
-
Streetz iz a mutha!
But two great cd's

Yeah Kurupt was always better then Daz when it came to MC skills. But Daz wasnt bad at all. In Fact he had a few verses that outshined Kurupts on Dogg Food. But Daz outshing Kurupt was very rare. Some people even say Kurupt wrote for Daz bacc in the day.
