Title: Best 2pac Guest Appearance?
Post by: TraceOneInfinite on July 17, 2006, 12:27:41 AM
Scarface feat. 2pac  "Smile"

this is the best 2pac guest track.... Scarface is way out of his league on this track... 2pac murders it... brings back memories, this song ruled the summer of 97, it picked up on all the emotions that were circulating at the time.  The video was great as well, I would even call it classic, just because of the imagery of 2pac and Biggie battling on a boat in the darkness of the night, and the 2pac lookalike made the video come to life.  The way 2pac rides the beat is a perfect match...

the intro is great hip-hop wisdom.

Great lines expressing 2pac's poetic depth and wisdom...

"Our lifestyle's be closed captioned"

"Unanswered questions keep us all guessin"

"Inhalin sherm smoke visualize the flames/
Will I be smothered by my own pain"

"Scared to drop a seed hopin I ain't cursed my babies"
Addicted to fatal attractions"

"No fairy tales for this young black male/
Stranded in this land of hell, jail and crack sales"

"Wishin I live my life a legend immortalized in pictures"

Pac didn't do many features, but when he did, he outshined the other artist(s)

And Smile is one of my Pac songs.

The whole track gives me the chill. Johnny P is a really good singer. And the outro, shit.

Quote
And now a moment of silence, let us pray
And as you journey into outerspace
may the angels help to lead the way
shine up on your soul to keep you safe
And all the homies that done passed away
They there to greet you as you pass the gates
And as you headed to the tunnel's light
I hope it leads to eternal life
We say the prayers for our homie 'Pac
Smile

That song and music video were so great. Smile definitely wins by a mile. Especially Pac's forst verse...just amazing

"Here's a message to the newborns, waiting to breath,
If you believe then you can achieve, just look at me"

That's what people don't realize about Pac. What he said was so dead on. Yeah, there are better lyracists, but how many can display the kind of emotion like he could? I can't count them on one hand.

Yeah I definitly think "Smile" was the best but, i really thought "thug luv" with bone thugs was an excellent callabo.

* just to add on, i think "Gangsta Party" with snoop dogg could compete also  ;)

While I do agree with Smile, I have to give Niggas Done Changed with Richie Rich as my pick.  That song is so raw and his lyrics are great in that song.  Always been my favorite guest appearance.

Now I clown around when I hang around with the Underground
Girls use to frown, say I'm down, when I come around
gas me and when they pass me they use to diss me
harrass me, but now they ask me if they can kiss me
Get some fame, people change, wanna live they life high
same song, can't go wrong, if I play the nice guy
(clamin that they must have changed, just because we came strong)
I remain, still the same (why Tu'?) cause it's the same song

Well, I agree."Smile" is probably his best guest appearance and probably my favourite.

But I love other three guest app. by him:

Above The Law - Call It What You Want
Now I clown around, when I hang around, with the Underground
but when I'm with the Mafia we DROPPIN YA
And if you're a hoe then I'll be knockin ya, baby why not
You shouldn't jock me cause I'm popular

Ant Banks - 4 Tha Hustlers
On this song tho my favourite is MC Breed and he comes very close to 'Pac.Didn't around that time The D.O.C. write some of Breed's stuff?

Too $hort - We Do This
Now they peepin how a nigga climb on the chart
Ain't fear in my heart, I represent it from the start
Deep, my momma raised me as a g from birth
Be a hustlin motherfucker 'til I sees my hearse
No doubt, I bust a shot for all my niggaz in jail
All the young black males, that got slang yell
Cause its a hard life nigga only thugs survive
Ain't no love, unless a nigga slangin drugs or high
Conversations with these bitches on my mobil
Always in control and never let these bitches know ya
And even though I'm gettin high, a thug nigga gettin by
Catchin bitches spittin lies, I'm gettin mine
All day, I puff a blunt and parlay and sometimes if we party
Gettin my dick licked twice
And death to a trick's life, we can pursue this 'til my shit's right
Went from havin fantasies, to havin hoes leave they man for me
There is no realer man than me
The city of Oaktown laced me with my first case
When them punk police tried to break me
Didn't think the shit was cute, so I got a lawsuit
And made them punk police buy my coupe
This is how we do this

i like his guest spot on young lay's " gotta survive" ...which also has mac mall and ray luv....underrated track...

Now I been called a crook, a killer, a thug
A no-good dealer of drugs
And Blood or Cuz, doesn't matter what set you was
Cause where I'm at, if you black, we strapped
As long as ki's make g's these thieves attack
And ain't no rules on the streets these days
Muthafuckas better watch they back and take it eazay
I'm livin in the dangerzone
And learnin lesson from the game, it's on
Niggas was gone when the frame was on
I'm gettin breaken them balls daily
Is there a ghetto in heaven or do I go to hell?
See, seems I was senteced to death, takin my steps with my head down
Why pour I liquor for my niggas, cause they dead now
My memory since I was a little seed
Was a penitentiary full of niggas like me
These cops can't terrorize us, they despise us
Niggas, cause we on the rise
Plus everybody's searchin for a piece of the truth
And the youth turn the streets into a piece of Beirut
And the truth is
