You can't view original user names. :-\...So now it's pretty difficult to tell who someone is once they switch up their name on here...I remember once you only had to put the mouse on a members name, and it would automatically say their OG user name on the bottom of the screen...BRING BACK OG USER NAMES!
-
Yeah, I've noticed that too. Now some of the more frequent poststers I have to take a good guess on who they are.
Also you can't delete your posts anymore.
-
Yeah we need this feature again, I want to change my name sooooo bad but I wont until we get this feature back!
-
* Can't view original user names any more.
* Delete-button gone for regular posters.
Is there any more lost feats ?
The new features clearly outweighs the lost features, imo..
-
new features?
-
new features?
-
The newer features? There barely are any...And how about the long lost "spell check" button?
-
1.. shows how many are viewing boards/posts.
2.. has that quick modify link
3.. on the forum index it only shows differing 'latest threads'
4. Shows this in the info center in the board index: " Most Online Today: 123. Most Online Ever: 320 (February 28, 2006, 19:22:19)"
5. PM layout is totally different, and features some new buttons & options, possibility to delete messages older than "x" days.
6. Better layout on boards, different font
7. "Last Post"-button shortcut in all boards.
8. Moderators can edit post titles without having to open them up by double clicking the post name cell OUTSIDE the area where the text is..
9. Search is back, and doesn't slow down the forum like the old search did.
10. Board is faster, threads loads faster and board seems lighter, server load is way down according to Seer.
11. Previewing posts is better, instead of loading completely over, it just "fetches" a preview quickly.
There's probably more.. ;)

i could swear the first 3 were already there
also, when the board was being updated (mainly just speed-related issues), feautures like the ones we've listed above were just randomly deleted... yes, those 11 new features are worth the loss of the others, but we were never told that there would be loss of any features, which is why we're still complaining
why did these features have to be taken out...?
-
most were removed by the forum developers. the "login names" thing was due to security.
-
Eh, OG usernames arent that important anyways. If you can't tell a poster by the way they post, then fuck em, they're not important anyways.
-
I wasnt around when the OG name thing was in effect, but yeah people change their name alot and we should def get this feature back

Security?...Come on now.
-
nothing i can do.. i didn't take it out.. the forum people did..
i figure its becaus the "OG name" is the login name

So you sayin' we ain't never gettin' that shit back?

So you sayin' we ain't never gettin' that shit back?
Thats exactly what he's saying - you cant get back a feature that the development team removed - the name thing im guessing would have been changed either due to security or to speed up transfer of data, numbers are easier to process and keeps track of new members etc in a sequential format...theres nothing we can do as the actual board database has been changed...

It already went by numbers prior to the update, they just had the OG user name listed under the profile...Let me ask you something, are you and Overseer able to view OG user names when you please? Or is it restricted for admins too?

Nope they have been removed completely in favour of sequential number sequences - sorry but they gone...

Yea, I forgot it in the past when I was under a different name...Luckily, back then OG user names wasn't disabled. You guys should contact the development team about this...
