I don't know what you mean by simple minded... my personal opinion is that all of us are very unimportant, the world isn't out to get any of us, it's up to ourselves to bless or curse our lives.  Generally what becomes of us  is our own fault, everybody has obstacles they have to overcome, the great embrace them and make the best of it and can overcome anything.
