Title: Daz never really rapped good.
Post by: Spicemuthafuc*in1 on July 26, 2006, 11:27:14 PM
He is one of my favorite artist's ever but to be honest he never really was a good rapper, I still love listening to him but for example I was just listening to "In California" one of my fav songs ever and if you listen to Daz even in his prime he wasnt really all that.

but he sounds nice

listen to his first 2 cd's.... obviously he's no lyricist but he's not choppy or anything, goes perfect with the beats

choppy motherfuckers, that's what irritates me

^^^ true that. he always made sure he was on point with the beats, and there was always somethin about his flow that was dope. although he has lost some of his luster over the years...

Daz had a great flow back in the day; listen to his verses on What Would You Do?, Who Got Some Gangsta Shit? and Doggy Dogg World.

Even though Kurupt probably wrote his lyrics, his flow and delivery was excellent up to about 1999/2000

Great flow, but LMAO at Daz calling himself a "true Lyricist" I guess if that means Speeling Out Dogg Pound Gangsta Crip 100 times per soing. Every God Damn song he spells put Dogg Pound Gangsta and says D A To the Z like 100 times as well....

Yeah Daz's flow was always ice too me. I never had much of a problem with his lyricals either. But what was the point of making an entire thread dedicated to it. That's some hater shit homie. Ok, so he ain't the best rapper in the world, but why make a negative thread outta nowhere. That's why Cali ain't blowin, too much hate. Kinda like how there is 100 threads saying how whack Cali Iz Active is, but only 2-3 threads saying how good Same Day, Different Shit is? People should try to focus on the positive aspects of the West. We all want it too get big right? We all want westcoast rappers to move units right? They only that's gonna happen is to stop nitpicking, and just show support.

Yea his flow was amzing bak in the days. Just listen to Dogg POund Ganstaz and Got My Mind Made Up

Got My Mind Made Up
You find an MC like me who's strong
Leavin motherfucker's aborted, with no verbal support
And when I command the microphone I gets deadly as Kahn though
With a bear and a snake and a panda, I'm on those
Who can withstand, the mo' power I gain
and make it possible for me to drop a few to wreck ya brain
Imagine and keep on wishin upon a star
Finally realizing who the fuck we are
When I penetrate, it's been withstandin, faded
would it be the greatest MC of all time
When I created rhyme for the simple fact
When I attack I crush your pride
My intention to ride, every time all night
I'm faced with the scars beyond this one bar
for me to put down my guard, I'm faced with it, I'm a ride
breakin in gas with the six-eight all day
In and out with my pay
I'm soon to count the bodies...

Kurupt probably wrote that shit but his flow was on point

I posted this verse a few weeks ago, and it shows how Daz used to be alot better then he is now. Whether or not Kurupt wrote that verse it was tight as fuck!

Nah, daz was nice at one time.  What's that Nate Dogg song he did, "My World" or maybe it was "First We Pray"... he was nice on that.  His verse on "Doggy Dogg World" was nice, anything he did on the Chronic or Doggystyle was nice, several songs on Dogg Food were great, etc.

Yeah, on 'These Days', his voice was real mellow. Shame he tends to shout a lot now.

Daz was at his best when he had that laid back style. All he does now is yell on tracks and thats not cool!

In actuality they face a technicality.

He must have said the same verse in like 15 different songs.

Daz's is Daz...nothing more nothing less...We should just take that for what it is and lock this thread!
