The Notorious B.I.G. "Juicy" - Brought back the East.

Geto Boys "My Mind Is Playing Tricks On Me" - Put the South on the map.

Outkast "Players Ball" - Brought back the South.

Snoop Dogg feat. Xzibit "Bitch Please" - Brought back the West.

2Pac feat. Dr. Dre "California Love" - Escalated the East/West conflict.

If you look at hiphop right now, many are trying to copy the Dre-sound as executed in:
Bitch Please
What's the Difference
Xxplosive
Also: Da Rockwilder (Red & Meth)
These are popular sounds in hiphop right now, but also popular is the old-school sample DJ Premier-style (Not Primo, but Primo-influenced:
Wu-Tang - Back in the game
Jay Z - Heart of the city
Jay Z - Girls girls girls

Dre-Imitators:
Scott Storch
Fred Wreck
Michelangelo (New cat, imitating Dre & Rockwilder)
Alchemist (Has his own style, but uses Dre-tricks)
Warren G (Learning from Dre, pretty similar on many tracks)
Also, the "Primo light"-catz are everywhere.

Lots of people have been imitating Dre now.  Jermaine Dupri now all of a sudden with "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" and "Your Wife Has Been Sighted."  Timbaland too, Dre's shit pops up here and there.

Damn how could I forget "Nuthin' But A G Thang". That song put the West on top from '92-'96 without a doubt.
