What up West Coast. The past week has been a busy one for Aftermath's Bishop Lamont here on West Coast Rydaz, as we linked up with him at Power 106 to premiere his latest song "Fuck Your Couch." The song, which has garnered a lot of attention, was very well received by LA radio and Bishop was on air at Power again last night. If you were feeling the song and would like to hear it more on the radio, call in and request it at 1-818-845-1059 today!
Look out for Bishop's debut album on Aftermath to drop early March 2007 before Dr. Dre's Detox (Summer 07), and keep it locked right here on West Coast Rydaz for the latest Bishop exclusives.

You've seen Dre bring out and work with a lot of artists, but Dre's most memorable "partner in crime" moments have been with Snoop Dogg and Eminem. Both artists held the reigns with the good Doctor on "The Chronic" and "Chronic 2001" as well as adding more ferocious heat with "Doggystyle" and "The Marshall Mathers LP". 2007 will mark another "standout" era with Dre as he and Bishop unleash "DETOX" and "The Reformation"! Everything that came and is currently coming from The Game, Busta, 50, Eve and Stat Quo is just the calm before the storm. Believe that...
-
Bishop in March ? No fucking way. 50 Cent drops in February like usually, plus Bishop needs to do that whole " 3 years waiting for a release date" thingy that so popular in the Aftermath office. My bet is it will come out in 2008, after Detox.
-
yeah... I dont see how he can drop if he still plans on bringing out Stat, Eve and 50 before then.
-
Lets hope what we hear is true and Dr Dre is focusing hard on Bishop Lamont.
Im hoping now Game has left Aftermath and Im sure we will never hear a Eve/Aftermath album, plus I dont see Dre working alot with 50 Cent any more, and finally I see Stat Quo being more of a Shady artist so hopefully this opens the door to push forward Bishop.
-
yeah, there is still so much shit to come out under the shady/aftermath/g-unit umbrella. Since they are all close and shit, they tend to not want to get in the way of each other's sales, which only ends upsetting the tone for more delays and shit. Luckily, Game got out of the camp and is now at geffen, which should allow him to release an album before 2007! I see 50 cent coming out with something before 2007 also (probably a single), since he runs things over at interscope. It seems like Eve is off the map for some reason, but she may surprise us. I honestly dont think we will see bishop lamont until late 2007 or early 2008, similar to how Game's original album "NWA" was supposed to come out like a full 7 months until it finally did. But hey...good things come to those who wait.
-
yeah... and knowing Interscope's dumbasses they'll prolly release 4,000 g-unit albums before any others... ::)
-
I aint really feelin BIshop Lamont but I will def support THe WEst Coast
-
;D YAY!
-
One of my people told me that there is a song that will most likely be on Bishop's album that is Bishop and Dre both rappin, with Chevy Jones on the hook, and it's a Scott Storch beat. And I hear it's a straight club banger.

dang...that sounds sick...and believable, storch keeps coming up with them straight up club bangers!!
-
hope its true
-
Bishop is the truth, but I don't see him coming out in the first or second quarter of 2007.
-
No way Bishop comes out before 2008, I don't see the point to release his cd before Detox imo , it would be a very bad move... plus first quarter is on lock for 50... I guarantee u Banks, Buck, 50 and Hot Rod will drop before Bishop, Stat gonna probably be dropped and no one cares about Eve. About Detox I don't expect it before Nov 07 at best
-
Cant see Bishop droppin bfore Detox, besides it would surely b better to have bishop on 5 tracks on detox so that he becomes more known to the general public then unleash an album, cos the man is a monster on the mic!
Has ne1 got ne of his early tunes or big tunes? Would appreciate if u could drop a recommendation or a link for it, cos im really feelin' dude and need some more of his music, only got like 8 of his tunes.
-
I surelyhope it's true but I doubt it
-
Why do people even care about Detox? It will never see the light of day
-
Bishop is dope as fuck but I seriously cant see the album droppin in spring 07, wud like it 2 but I dont fink it will!
-
he os NOT droppin next March
he has at least 3-4 more years on the shelf
-
The Smart thing for Dre to do is introduce the world to Bishop on detox just like he did with Snoop on the Chronic and have Bishop drop his album right after.
-
Makes no sense to release Bishop before Detox - surely they need to boost Bishops name and give him mainstream publicity that being on Detox would bring, ala Snoop & Em - even though Em was known (2001 helped him explode)
The only way that it would work is to give Bishop a massive push and increase the hype (50 cent style)
Looking forward to hearing more Bishop

That sounds good - looking forward to hearing this one ;D

^^ Em released TSSLP before he was on "2001".

Lamont floe is tight & he could actually song write. He's seems to be playing his cards right staying humble & real in the public eye..so def. makes him a favorite..

They made a mistake on the year...I fixed it cuz I heard Dre wants to wait til he can finish mixing it down ::) :P
-
i don't see why they can't launch bishop next year before detox, if the shit on his album is that hot then it could make a huge impact and bring dre back into the spotlight before he drops his own album...

True... the same thing happened with Em in '99.
-
^^
Exactly... Suddenly you heard: "Hi! My name is Slim Shady." all over MTV and since then you've known the name. Could happen again. All they need is the right record.
-
^^^^ Sales wise it was another era and Em was the controversial white rapper.. I don't think Bishop can blow up THAT big before being introduced on Detox..

I like BISHOP, but I dont ever see him selling much
-
Hittman was introduced on the 2001 LP. And we all know what happened to his solo.

If he can Market Bishop like he did Game you never know, but i think the whole CPT thang helped Game too
