conservative with the next release? I figure they'll want to get something out quick to save face.
-
I hope they will never work with Will.I.Am anymore.
-
did they lose face? ::)
what planet do u live on?

It's only flopping for their standards...but it's still doing pretty good...it's not like Busta was a brand new artist with HEAVY anticipation and hype going on. His single came out in damn October, and the album dropped like 7-8 months later, which is a huge mistake...and even worst, his second single is by far one of the worst singles he's ever dropped in his career.

True, true. But it's not even gold yet, that shit don't fly in the business side, the corporate side.

GUnit/Shady/Aftermath aint what it used to be like 3 years ago. I bet you Obie will also flop. The whole net has his album and his US release date aint even set yet!
Next on the Aftermath is probably 50 I dont think hell have trouble selling.

Damn....I don't know why, but I think we expected Aftermath to be ON TOP, ON TOP, forever. If you look at it, most rap labels have major ups and downs...Def Jam has overall been the strongest and most consistent, and we all know they've had hella ups, downs, failures, suprises, and major success stories. Death Row was HOT, major for a few years....and they completely disappeared. So for Aftermath to have been having success since 1999, and still having much potential, it may not be the hottest, almost trendiest label...but it will be around "forever", and it will have some ups n downs as other companies do.
50 will probably still sell...but his singles this time will be crucial.

Yeah its a natural process.

Aftermath needs Detox as for Shady and G-Unit they have never really been big.

Interscope think that if they make the most pop/commericial tracks that are just shit they'll instantly sell. It don't work like that.
Good music is good music and I Love My Bitch ain't good music.
Busta should've gone with the strongest track being Been Through The Storm.

Exactly my feelings. Everyone loves Stevie Wonder....everyone. That right there would push a gang of units for him.

I don't know if it did overall...but I know that first week was VICIOUS....what he do, 1.4 in four days, versus him doing 800 or 900 K in the first week on GRODT?

The Massacre sold 4.9 million.
-
bustas album was great, interscope fukked it up
bad singles... bad timing.. delays... they fukked it up
HOWEVER, busta never really sold THAT much he was always around platinum and gold, i doubt he ever sold more than 1.8 mill....

^i agree, i don't understand what the hell they were thinking releasing the singles they did. The singles are pretty much the songs i skip on the cd.

Youre right. I think this album will do well tho and then the one after that wont do well at all but u never know.
I think this busta album is amazing . easaly my favorite record of 06 .
-
Busta doesn't do it for me.
-
imma big busta fan, but i gotta say the album is not amazing......he left some essential shit that made him off the album.......like the hype energy type tracks......and overall i gotta give it a 4mic......aint worth 3-4 years making this album....
About aftermath loosing its buzz..............aftermath always relied on eminem to sell records.........then 50 came along and did his thing and game but truth is aftermath never really been releasing cd's from different niggaz.......only 50 and eminem did crazy digits and game sold huge for a westcoast artist....but dre lost him...........so he only got 50 and em to rely on again..........which imo is great security because whenever anybody says they slippin, all he gotta do is release one of these niggaz and they shit will sell easy..............i would just prefer dre working with some hungry cats right now and its good to see those cats are on the westcoast right now.....but i doubt dre doing much...........busta aint selling good for an aftermath artist but anyone else would be pretty pleased.......and lol@dude who said gunit were never really big..............for a few years, all it was about was g-g-g-gunit
