This is a question I always wanted an answer to, which is your favourite Nas release rather than which do you think is the best?
My vote would go to I Am...

illmatic, dats one of my favorite album, some say it takes a while to like it, but after the first listen i fell in love with this lp. I'm not a nas fan, never really liked any of his other release, but i liked some tracks on it was written and i am.

illmatic will always be my fave....first rap cd i ever bought and what a way to start....first time i heard NY State of Mind i was like WHOA!!!!!!

Illmatic. The album is 10 tracks and has a full sound. Great production, consistent content, lyrics. Hands down.

Lost Tapes is incredible, I AM is pretty dope, Stillmatic is great abut a bit overrated, and Illmatic is an all-time classic and of course Nas' best album and one of the first rap albums i owned along with Hard TO Earn and Doggystyle.
However, my favourite Nas album gotta be IWW, not as complete as Illmatic, and IWW has a couple weak songs, but it also has my two favourite Nas songs ever, Take it in Blood and The Message.

If it wasn't for Illmatic, which is clearly my all time favorite album of any genre, I would have voted Streets Disciple. It Was Written would be the runner up then.

^Stillmatic is a very good record, but its nowhere near Illmatic. Illmatic is one of the best rap records of all time, Stillmatic is just a good record.

Yeah but Nik did you read the title of the thread, it said favorite nas release not his best lol. Just like Return Of The Regulator is my fav Warren album but its not considered his best.

yup..and i know its his best cd (illmatic) and its a classic but i dont think that someone should be banned from the boards if thats not there favorite cd, because my favorite is stillmatic and thats what i voted for....
