I mean, i was just bumpin his album "The Way I Am" and dam, alot of bangers on there.... much better then 95% of rappers out there. I thought "the way i am" (ft snoop dogg) was a pretty big song..... so why did he flop?
-
he is not marketable at all
-
^^^^Exactly. Plus, his alcohol addiction didn't help either...
-
His buzz died and it took too long for his album to drop. If he had released it shortly after bad intentions he would have done better.
-
Promotion. Elektra didn't go a good job with promoting. and who gives a fuck if dude isn't marketable? i say if it's good rap, buy that shit. I just hope we get that "Book Of Knoc" album that Komplex talked about in his interview. I don't get why Return Of The Hustler was released on that shitty ass Sonic Wave? Lol as much I didn't like that album, I already no I'll be buyin' his next album (if he comes out with 1) 1st chance I get. I just don't get his double label situation. Damn, Dubcnn BADLY gotta hook up an interview with him. Can't wait to hear his music on that "So Treacherous" mixtape/street album. I still bump that Way I Am & L.A. Confidential Presents: Knoc-Turn'Al. I like him so much, that there are some songs from Return Of The Hustler I bump. Anyone know what's up with L.A. Confidential? He had Slip Capone, Timebomb, Yykes etc.

Released his album at the wrong time and promotion sucked...He woulda' gone platinum had "Knoc's Landin" came out when it was supposed to with better promotion for the single...By the time "The Way I Am" came out, Knoc's name was in barely anyones mouth...PeACe

and also, he sucks.

Knoc's best chance to blow was if Bad Intentions had of been his song, and if wack ass Missy didn't ruin an otherwise guaranteed commercial hit with his first single...........also, the fact that he released an EP first when he had buzz didn't help............
but really, his voice is too much for a whole album, he needed to be in a group with Hittman and 6'2, woulda been a perfect group

Could be tight, but Hittman is best solo...

To be honest, I don't care if dude blows or not. He just has to be doing more then what he is currently doing. We need something better then Return Of The Hustler. He didn't put enough effort in to it. He has to come out with a "real" follow up album to Way I Am. He should take up on Snoop's word, the man did he say he's C.E.O. of KOCH West, and anyone who needs a deal to go to him. He said if your from the west he'll put your shit out. Knoc should holla at him. Plus, KOCH doesn't seem to care bout record sales because they've put out alot of bad selling albums. So Knoc can just go in the studio and not worry about being #1 on the charts, he can just focus on making some good music.

"The Way I Am" was a fuckin banger, one of the best West Coast CDs in recent years IMO. It didn't sell for the same reasons that NO other West Coast records have sold in the past few years, except Snoop and Cube.
-
cuz hes fuckin wack!
-
It's easy to flop if you don't have a commercial first single. The way I am was a good first single, but a song like that isn't going to move units.
