Should Nate Dogg even drop another album??????? He has never had a successful album or single of his own, which is mindblowing when you consider how many hits he has been on. G-Funk Classics Vol 1&2 and Music and Me are such tight albums, but lacked any real single, the kind that you can't deny. Damn, even if that corny ass Shake that ASs for Me was just Nate's song, that shit would blow up.
It seems like Nate has been making fewer guest appearances lately, which is dope considering he definitely overdid it for awhile there.
Is he even planning another album???
-
NOPE!!!!
unless he drop some real music like back in the days, real soulful stuff with good lyrics, Im tired of hearing stuff like , Bust a Nut or Ur girlfriend is a hoe type of shit...he needs to drop something that makes sense, oh and also...too much guests, wich shows that Nate Dogg cant handle an album on his own
-
nah, no need
-
When people like The Dogg Pound are still dropping albums I don't see why Nate shouldn't.
-
Who's this Nate Dogg you speak of?
-
i don´t wanna hear an entire album from a guy who can only hit a couple of notes.
-
no need, he can't hold a solo album
-
Who's this Nate Dogg you speak of?
the dudes dick you sucked when he came to your town, remember?
but nate is a hook mang, dont think he has enough to put out a whole album.

Do you have to dumb down every thread you post in?
What is it with you and dicks, you say that almost every time you post. must be a frisco thing.
-
Sure. If DJ's are dropping mainstream albums, I don't see why Nate Dogg shouldn't. Plus, I am pretty sure he IS dropping an album. It's been delayed to add Dre production. I heard 2 tracks with Knoc-Turn'Al & 1 with Warren G & DJ Quik that were suppose 2 be on there. Whether they still make the cut or not is yet to be seen. All 3 of them were decent.
-
Yes he should, I liked Music and Me, some songs were great.. I don't really consider Nate Dogg a singer, he's more of a "singing-rapper" for me and since I like his back then unique style , I want a Nate Dogg album. Many guests or not, Music and Me was dope. Dre has a lot of guests also on the album, for me it doesnt matter how you make your album, it's the final result so yeah, I want a Nate album, even if I have to hear the same notes lol, I don't care I like these notes, i'm not a vocalist fan anywayz so it's cool for me.
Do Dubcnn knows what's up with Nate?
-
no need, he can't hold a solo album
his solo albums are dope as fuck... yeah he needs alot of features but they are dope... and my answer to the question is
HELL YEAH!
-
he should...i liked "music and me"....but sux that it didnt sell well..thanks to that gay ass "i got love" track...if he woulda had a better 1st single nate coulda atleast gone gold...

I agree, when someone sings on a hole record i dont wanna be hearing about that shit either. Nate dogg is great for Guest apperences to sing hooks or one verse but a hole album....i dont know
-
G-Funk Classics Vol. 1 & 2 are great albums. If he sticks to that formula, I'm all for another Nate Dogg album.
His other albums were blah.
-
nate and warren should do an album together. they already admited that they want to.
-
Hah, Nate Dogg shouldn't drop another album. He should just stick to guest appearances and such.
-

gotta disagree MUSIC AND ME Was banging!
But i dont think he should drop another album, not because he cant, but because Nate is getting played out IMO, his last great hook IMO was "Have a party"
-
he's got what i call the curse of jadakiss, where your appearence can turn a single into a fuckin classic, but just cant carry that over into your own productions
-
i don´t wanna hear an entire album from a guy who can only hit a couple of notes.
LMAO...You've never heard Nate Dogg. I promise...No one hits the highs and lows as smoothly as Nate...
Nate Dogg needs to drop an album, but no one lets him do his thing...I bet labels tell him he needs a bunch of guest artists to suceed, but if anyones heard his early solo work, he not only was able to carry an album, but a double album as well...I love his work, with "Music & Me" he tried a little too hard to sound mainstream (sorta like Kurupt with "Space Boogie"), but it was still overall a cool album...I honestly think the only way for Nate Dogg to release musice that is 100% tight is to go independent and not release albums under a record labels standards...That way he can provide us with more dope music, just like on "G-Funk Classics Vol. 1 & 2"...PeACe

Should Nate Dogg even drop another album???????
YES 8)
-
YES!!!
Nate does do classic hooks, but wen it comes 2 his albums ppl always expect his albums 2 b like he is wen he does guest appearrances, but hes not so they sleep on em. Nates albums hav bin cool, but u gotta listen 4 Nate the solo artist not Nate the hook singer.
-
Nate can't hold anybody's attention doing a full album by himself, all the guest apperances features on his albums is proof..He should sticc to just doing hooks for another people..cuz no one else is touching dude when he's banging out hooks and bridges...
-
Why the fuck not?
Some of y'all surprise me. You tellin me Nate shouldn't/can't make a successful album? Look at half these muthafuckas makin' R&B tracks laced with hip-hop that are successful. These dudes don't have half the talent Nate has. Can't hit notes? I mean are some of you serious?
NIK said it best: they don't let Nate be Nate. Nate needs to get on a label that respects what he does and his legacy, and are willing to back him financially and promotion-wise. Once a label realizes this, they're sitting on a goldmine.
LMAO @ people saying no. Go play your weak ass T-Pain record and let the real West Coast hip-hop heads enjoy our Nate D-O-Double-G.
-
LOL at some of you saying no because he can't hold an album on his own yet you bitch and moan about when Detox is gonna come out. Most rappers nowadays can't even hold albums on their own, half the tracks have guest feat.
-

would much rather see him in a group album, whether its 213 or something new.

would much rather see him in a group album,
Nate Dogg, Butch Cassidy, and Bo-Roc would be some ill shit...

Finally.. I thought I was the only one waiting for a Nate Dogg album
-
Nate needs to get on a label that respects what he does and his legacy, and are willing to back him financially and promotion-wise. Once a label realizes this, they're sitting on a goldmine.
People say that about every artist. What makes Nate Dogg different?

Nate Dogg is a pure talent...He has a talent that people don't believe in fully, since he hasn't succeeded 100% alone...I know for sure that he can be a commercial success as a solo artist, and labels simply won't be willing to experiment with that because of who he is...I'm sure if he came up with 14 dope ass solo cuts, a major record label would NOT release it without making him go back and change basically everything...PeACe
-
He should do one that is more old school/funkish rather than gangsta. Get some people like stevie wonder, the gap band, do an oldschool funk record.
-
Nate Dogg is the musical equivalent of pepper. I love pepper, and pepper makes everything from pizza to toast to salad to soup to steak taste better.... doesn't mean I wanna sit around and eat a bowl of pepper, though.

Exactly...people just see him as a person who does hooks/bridges & maybe a verse or two but that's it...if he was only able to do the material he wanted to on his solo shit, then people would recognize his talent...G. Funk Classics 1&2 & Music & Me are proof that he can do an album himself with a few guests on it & still have dope solo cuts too... 8)

I will say this, his G Funk Classics are great, but one complant, HE SINGS IN ONE NOTE THOUGH THE WHOLE ALBUM. I think his a great hook man, his like the Dr. Dre of hooks, he makes your song that much better. A Dre beat with a Nate hook, you are platnum once they leave the studio. But Nate had his one double disc, and honestly, that's really all he has. Unless he can do some true R&B, then no.
-
You It's A Hit when Nate Dogg spit.
Of course he should come out with another album.
-
, HE SINGS IN ONE NOTE THOUGH THE WHOLE ALBUM.
^^Another one who hasn't really listened to a Nate Dogg album.

I own it. a great chill album, but not something I listen to all the time. Although as I said, if he goes pure R&B, then I think it can work.

Pure R&B? Dude, what the fuck are you talking about? LOL...You said Nate Dogg sings in one note, which is FAR from the truth...PeACe
-
Nate Dogg has about a one octave vocal range. I have a three octave vocal range. Mariah Carey has a 7 octave vocal range. I'm not saying Nate can't sing, he can... but saying he's extremely versatile is stretching it.
Another thing you guys are forgetting is, Nate didn't make shit off of "Music and Me" or G funk classics. Neither sold worth a fuck. Name 1 artist who dropped two albums that didn't sell, then all of a sudden made a fucking fortune off their third album. Anybody? Heh? He's better off sticking to hooks for other people, you record 1 days worth of work and get paid 10-20 grand, and get royalties from the track if it hits it huge. THAT's the way to go.

OK, he sings other notes, but in reality, he stays are the same tempo, and he is more of a kick back singer. To do R&B, you need to do more than his shown, I think he can do it, I just think that G Funk and Hip Hop does not let him fully show his talent.
-
Nate Dogg has about a one octave vocal range.
Dude, shut the fuck up, seriously, Nate can sing super high and super low, I seriously think most the board hasn't heard "G Funk Classics"... ::)

I own it, I can have it up in the hook up section tomorrow, since I'm about to sleep. I can burn copies and mail them right now. I've heard it, and I'll say it, he needs to show more in terms of singing.

Homie, what the fuck are you talking about R&B for? Nate Dogg has a completely different/original style, I don't think fans would appreciate it if he started singing R&B, so please make sense...His style is good as it is, he needs to change nothing...Listen to "Just Another Day", "Crazy, Dangerous", "These Days", "Why", "It's Going Down Tonight", "Puppy Love", "Hardest Man In Town"...Man, they all sound different, original, and dope...PeACe

Your opinion really sucks and I doubt you've listened to the album within the last few years...
-
I have it on my cell phone. 8)
I'm not saying I don't enjoy his music. His style appeals to me, and I even put it on my cell. It's just to have a wider fan base, he needs to expand his style, and not limit himself.
-
I can see why some think Nate really has only one style, but damn, even check a song like If We by Mariah ft. Ja Rule and Nate, and you can see a different style from Nate. Myself, i've always prefered the higher pitched Nate, not the low style he seems to use on most of his guest appearances.
I hope Nate drops another, but financially, it probably isn't worth it. If he wants to blow, he needs a track that is a certified it, like a Family Affair (woulda been perfect for NAte but instead Dre gives him that wack ass Your Wife) or an Xxplosive.
Anyone know if he is working on anything right now???
-
Music & Me was bangin' but that nigga use tha wrong song for his first single

SO TRUE.. that album is easily one of the best double albums ever period. NATE is cold.

I've also heard you rap. You don't know shit about music.

Nate Dogg is not a good singer so why would i wanna hear an album from him? if i wanna hear RnB i´ll listen to people that can sing for real. pop in some Anthony Hamilton,Alicia Keys,Aretha Franklin,Marvin Gaye,Whitney Houston or even John Legend and then compare their vocal abilities with Nate Dogg´s.

Maybe so, but that doesn't say a Nate Dogg solo wouldn't be dope. They were before, why not again? Besides - there's no other gangsta crooner quite like Nate, is there? You have the right recipe and Nate can cook up a track that's muthafuckin tizzight! Imagine Xxplosive without Nate Dogg. Or Ain't No Fun. His solo shit too - Bag O' Weed, One More Day, Back Door... They're all 8)

Listen up, hick boy...I guarantee you can't rap better than me, so until you become a dope rapper, you have no place in these music sections, since it's your opinion that in order to judge music you must be a tight rapper.......a moron who thinks he's smart... :grumpy:

Sorry, I'd prefer a new Nate Dogg album over any of those...And whoever says he can't sing needs new ears. What you mean is that he doesn't sound like a whiney R&B faggot, but saying he can't sing is absurd...PeACe

Should he who knows? But anyone says that he cant and sucks and this and that...LOL! Nate has proven twice that he can drop dope cd's. Its not like he has fell off, Nate would still be able to drop a hot cd today i guarantee it. But i dont think it will happen...
