Title: Snoop Dogg & Daddy Yankee
Post by: nuerastudios06 on August 17, 2006, 09:47:06 PM
Just want an opinion. What Ya think of the whole Daddy Yankee Snoop Dogg Collabo. Daddy Yankee is a well known Puerto Rican lyricist, despite the fact that he's very pop. What Ya think about the whole Hip Hop Reggeaton mixture. I know there will be alot more of this in the future. And for those of ya who dont understand a word they're saying in spanish, how much of it does it bother ya?

I don't usually care for Reggaton music but occasionally and I mean occasionally they make a good song or two.

You never heard Tego or Don Omar? Those dudes spit. Outside of them, most of the tracks about chicks, sex and the sort. But, it serves it's purpose. I have my Reggaeton Mix in my CD player always ready.

Yeah, it is a good genre to get crazy with femalez. But I mean, they got mad lyrics sometimes. Im a fan of Lyrics. I will admit that their beats are sometimes very annoying, but some of them can spit!

Yes, Don Omar and Tego can spit. Most people will tell you Tego's an emcee, not a Reggaetonero.

if u dont speak spanish, i can see why u dont like it, but personally me being latino, i dig it, especially artists like Tego, Eddie Dee, Vico C, who spit real talk, and its true dat alot of the lyrics in most songs are bout the same ol shit, but i mean isn't that wut hip hop is, the same shit talkin bout bling, cars, bitches, blah blah blah.....but there is also deep songs too, just like their is made-for-radio shit, and i can dig sum of Yankee's stuff, if u actually been following reggaeton from da beggining, u know he can spit sum shit if he wants to, aside from his cookie-cutter songs, ie : corazones, salud y vida, among others.....sum ppl might as well keep hating on it, cuz its only gonn get bigger, so get used 2 it, its just getting started............dont be surprised 2 hear ur favorite rapper rapping over a reggaeton track, sooner or later.....

Speak.

Vico C is an amazing lyricist. I used to listen to some daddy yankee years ago and it was really good stuff, his collabos with nicky jam were dope. Then when it started to come to the states on the radio and in the club all the substance was thrown out the window, like any product made to sell.

I don't think this genre will last much longer, atleast in the US. Kinda how sean paul and dance hall music was a couple years back. Its there but not how it used to be.

notable non-reggeaton artists: Vico C and calle 13
