This Tuesday marks the release date of the brand new album by DJ Kay Slay, titled The Champions - North Meets South. The Drama King from the north teamed up with Greg Street from the south and together they hooked up the album with only exclusive tracks from today's hottest rappers.
Dubcnn hooked up with the #1 DJ on New York's premier radio station Hot 97 DJ Kay Slay The Drama King for an exclusive interview. We discussed his already third frontline release The Champions, how New York stays on top almost consistently in many peoples eyes, lyricism, artists making moves from mixtapes to albums and much more!

Propz! Great, great interview in my opinion!
'The lyricism, bottom line. Without question. What comes out of an artist’s mouth is what made hip hop to what it is today. Not about who had the best dance. It’s about the lyricism. Lyrical, that’s about the lyrical content, the skills. Rapping deals with skills.'

This guy is so fucking stupid. Should have asked him how many states there are in the USA. I was listening to his show on Sirius on Wednesday, and he was saying something like there about are 100,000 rappers in all 52 states. He was trying to make a point that not that many rappers make it big or something. I couldn't believe this idiot said there are 52 states in the USA. One of his co-hosts corrected him but he still believed he was right. He told the listeners to call in and tell him how many there were. I am not kidding about 8 out of 10 calls said there were 52 states. Even Busta Rhymes came into the studio and said there were 52, and said Puerto Rico and Panama were the 51st and 52nd states. I am not going to listen to his ass anymore after that. Not to mention he plays shitty music.

Busta said there were 52 states?? LMAO!

Dubcnn: You’re known all over the world with your mixtapes and even in Europe you have a big following. Do you plan on putting out any hot European MC’s on your mixtapes to appeal to your European fans?
I would really have to hear some of the music that’s popping out there and see how I can mix it in.
Never heard a mixtape where he does any mixes, he seems to usually stop 1 track, shout , begin the next track and shout again.
