A total of five British clubs will be involved when the draw for the Champions League group stages takes place on Thursday at 17:00 BST.
Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Celtic are all among the 32 clubs in the draw.
Hearts missed out on joining them when they lost their qualifier with AEK Athens on Wednesday.
United, Liverpool and Arsenal are amongst the top seeds in pot one, while Celtic and Chelsea are in pot two.
It means Premiership champions Chelsea will find themselves in the same group as Barcelona, who knocked them out of last year's competition, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Inter Milan or Valencia.
The draw will be missing Juventus for the first time in seven years after the Italian giants were banned from the Champions League for their role in the Italian match-fixing scandal.
However, AC Milan, who were also banned but then reinstated on appeal, will compete after coming through their qualifying rounds.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Valencia also came through qualifying to secure spots in the pot containing the top seeds.
The 32 entrants, who are divided into the four pots depending on their current European ranking, will be split into eight groups of four.
Each group will contain one team from each of the four pots.
The draw for the group stages will take place in Monaco.

Damn , Barcelona and Chelsea, Lyon and Madrid in the same group once again... can't wait 8)
-
Some tough draws there & the potential of some cracking ties
What was the odds of Barca & Chelsea playing each other again :o
Celtic fans should be quite happy :-\ got a decent chance to qualify from their group
Teams to go through IMO
Group A - Barca & Chelsea - Bremen 3rd
Group B - Inter & Bayern - Spartak 3rd
Group C - Liverpool & Bordeauv - PSV 3rd
Group D - Valencia & Roma - Shakhtar 3rd
Group E - Real & Lyon - Kiev 3rd
Group F - Man Utd & Benfica - Celtic 3rd
Group G - Arsenal & Hamburg - Porto 3rd
Group H - AC Milan & Lille - AEK 3rd
-
We were one ball away from getting madrid. i wanted to go there! :(
-
Group F - Man Utd & Benfica - Celtic 3rd - not a surprising prediction from yourself
Group G - Arsenal & Hamburg - Porto 3rd - surprising, the 4th seed to go thru? dunno bout that
-
Lille and Lyon gonna advance imo.. Bordeaux got a tough group though

Didn't think that predicting Celtiic to come 3rd would be a shock
I rate Hamburg highly think that they are a very good team - Van Der Vaart has been playing well and if it wasn't for inexperince then they could have done even better in the Bundesliga last season, losing Khalid Boulahrouz is a blow for them but if they can sign Joris Mathijsen they will be doing well
I was hoping that Hamburg would have been in Celtics group from a selfish point of view as they were IMO the best of the 4th seeds :P
How do you think that you'll get on Mac?

Pretty happy with United's group the games against Celtic should be great.

Yeah I'm looking forward to playing Man Utd with something at stake for the 1st time in a while!
Still deciding whether we will make the trip down or not.
I'm prolly more likely to go to Lisbon, maybe Copenhagen.

I'll be hoping that the score between Man Utd & Celtic is along the lines of the pre-season friendly this season :P
If you go to Copenhagen you'll enjoy it there - went a couple of years ago when we played them and it was a great time
The only bad thing about Copenhagen was the price of the food & drinks :o most expensive i've had on an away trip for a drink or two

Group G looks the most entertaining to me.
-
Werder Bremen looks pretty strong, I think they can take 2nd while leaving out Chelsea
-
I think people are over-looking Group B as the group of death - anyone could go thru in that one.
Whereas I can only see it being Barca/Chelsea or Chelsea/Barca from Group A.

Hmm, Suppose im pretty happy with that draw. Definetely not underestimating Benfica (Knocked out Man United and LIverpool last year) or Copenhagen (cuffed ajax on their own doorstep) BUt im thinking positively, on our day i think we can take 3 off anyone at Celtic Park and lets just hope our away record vastly improves this time around. Target = 10 Points AT LEAST.
Anyone got the fixture dates?

Target = 10 Points AT LEAST.
Thats a massive target you've set there
IMO you's won't get near that - I reckon 4-6 points could be what you's end up
Though I could be biased 8)
-
hopefully we will do a rangers - win 1 out of 6 and still progress :P

But I think as per usual from them, nothing to show for it at the end of the season.
