Title: I Need Help With A Beat In Progress
Post by: J Bananas on August 24, 2006, 09:23:27 PM: 52 second demo, quick download, really need feedback. i feel like the track already has a lotta complex samples so anything i try to make it more exciting with gives it a cluttered sound. im shit out of ideas for bass cuz i just got fruityloops on my new pc today, and its stock sounds are shitty. im still waiting on reason too...

i hear you, its really only good for making drums, everything else you either gotta sample or find another program that has a good synthesizer

yeah, or you gotta have a keyboard, or u gotta be really good at it, but i still use it when im bored

Post by: Timmeeeehh on August 26, 2006, 11:58:56 AM: The drums could be knocking harder, the sample gets irritating after 15 seconds; I would only put it in the refrain. The beat misses a lot of fillup sounds, sounds too basic like this.

Post by: J Bananas on August 28, 2006, 04:49:24 PM: ^well right now im waiting for my cousin to send me reason, sonar and fruityloops 6.5 full on his private server, but i set a deadline with a local rapper in the next week so i bit the bullet and im using the demo for fruityloops and acoustica mixcraft, as long as ur familiar with eq u can make those shitty programs work for you

yeah dude i got you on myspace i love your shit! as for thin sound, boost the lower level frequencies in whatever eq mixer you have, then boost the highs and mids accordingly so it doesn't sound too ghetto, but low freq. boost is a MUST for hip hop tracks
