With this new album(rotr)i think that he has arrived at the end of his career....89°position on the charts(around 60.000 copies). Universal executives will be mad about it,and if they don't dropped warren from the label....his next album will be
entitled "Warren G...The End",or maybe "This is the End"(sounds like The doors).
It's sad,but the truth is that Return of the regulator isn't a great comeback for Warren.
-
I agree, Warren didn't need a 'comeback album' in the first place. We put too much expectations on himself by what he named the album.
I think since this album isn't too special, he should of named the second CD "The Return Of The Regulator" instead.
Poor Warren.
-
...maybe "THE RE-RETURN OF THE REGULATOR"
or..."My Broken Ass"-"Homeless"-"Styleless"
:P

SHUT UP, BITCH! I bet you the typical mofo who judge and album by the beats or by all the dissing tracks. Nas is better, uh? Shit! All BULLSHIT, man! The album is dope! Personally i think it's the best album of the year, and i remember a lot of you (you too, Incognito) saying that when you first heard it. U know what? The problem is IRC! Releasing it 2 months ago. That's all. Cause the album is better than half of the albums that are from position 1 to 88.
-
Personally I love this release, but it sucks about the lack of recognition he's getting, he deserves alot more props, especially production wise. I can see him just giving up if this LP doesn't take off soon. I'd love this shit to blow up, it'd b great for him.
-
i personally LOVE this album
-
i remember a lot of you (you too, Incognito) saying that when you first heard it.
Antonio, take Warren's dick out yo throat and STOP MAKING ACCUSES CAUSE OF IRC. You dick ride so much, ADMIT IT...these raps are nothing special at ALL. The beats and hooks are the only thing that keep this album alive. Fuck off, and stop jumping on me.
-
I love this album and give it the big Bow Wow

true
-
warren g's album was pretty wack......nuff said, this is his worst album ever, with 0/5 in lyrics and 4/5 in beats,
-
I love this album and give it the big Bow Wow
-Big BpG
...from me too.
i don´t care about sales and shit...
-
album sales can turn around ya know...he probably has the wrong single picked considering i have heard it once on the radio n never seen the video....i dunno what it would need but unversal execs will either dismiss this or start putting some effort into the album making the radio play the singles etc.
-
"Yo Sassy Ways" should have been the first single. "Lookin @ You" was a terrible choice.
-
Incognito i'm not dickriding. I'm just letting you know how some of you act in this board..
ROTR released by IRC -> Whoa! Album of the year!!!!!!!
ROTR sells bad -> It's his worse album ever!!!!!!!
That's boring, man! I'm not dickriding. I just wrote that for me it's the album of the year. If this is garbage... wassup with The Wash, Bones, etc..? LMAO! Shit... dickriding when 90% of you guys wrote you LOVED this shit! Just check the fucking old posts, man! Now that this shit is selling bad all i read is "THIS ALBUM SUCKS". Fuck that man! It's too easy to act like that! When u say something, remember it. And support it! I'm here to read opinions. True opinions, not guys changing em everyday just cause some1 write some shit.
If you dont like it, i'm cool. Who cares? But.... and i'm talking in general...... i'm not cool if u like it in mp3, if u love it when irc releases it and after a feew weeks, just cause it aint selling good, u diss Warren G or me for having the same opinion i had last month. That's not cool with me.
I liked this album from day 1 to..... NOW!
-
I'm not saying this album "sucks." It's a let down from what everyone hyped it up to be.
-
It's a let down from what everyone hyped it up to be.
NAW MAN! FROM WHAT YOU HYPED IT TO BE. Cause the rest of the board but you is saying that it's a shame it aint selling so good cause the album is hot. So talk for yourself. I love it, u dont like it.
-
SHUT UP BITCH!this album sucks like your mom

Incognito, of course these raps are nothing special at all, when has warren ever been the man on tme mic. Warren is a producer first, he never even wanted to be an MC. His album's are a showcase for his production skills, and ROTR has him at his finest. It is fucking mindbogglin when people say the new album is not good cuz of his lyrics or how he is rapping! Warren G will never be on par with the likes of Nas or Ras kass, or even someone like Bad Ass or Tray Dee. However, while he isn't rippin the mic to pieces, he does have a great flow and makes great songs.
Once again, if you are looking for fucking lyrics go elsewhere Incognito! Noone on this board ever hyped this album up to be a lyrical masterpiece, so why are you surprised???!!!! Some of you guys amaze me, like you just started listening to Warren G with this album; if you had actually listened to his shit before you would know his lyrics aren't the greatest! I love this album because of the beats, the hooks, Warren's laidback straightforward style, and because of the outstanding guest appearances (if you want lyrics on this album, Mista Grimm is incredible on 5 tracks)!
Oh ya, fuck whoever judges an album by fucking sales! Soem of you guys are starting to piss me off, i know this is the net but i feel like pulling a Kurupt and Calling out Names! I mean, some of ya'll need to form your own fucking opinion of this cd instead of judging it by sales, or saying stupid shit like the "RAPS ARE NOTHING SPECIAL AT ALL"- Incognito! I mean, that is probably the dumbest statement i have ever heard from anyone, let alone someone who's opinion i have grown to respect on this board......
-
SHUT UP BITCH!this album sucks like your mom
hmmmmm whatever !!!
-
I really hate to admit it but I was kinda dissapointed of this cd when I d/l . Yes I played it for like a week straight but after a while it got old real quick cause it really had no songs that stuck out. Now don't ge me wrong, this is a good cd,better than other bullshit but it didnt deserve the title "Return of the Regulator"
As a fan of Warren G though I still went out and bought it to support the man and damn he needs alot right now :o

Teecee I agree 100% and must say... it's so right in my mind... A lot of people here will say G Funk Era was a classic album, yet... Warren never ripped it on the mic... Warren never will, yet for some reason, when they heard the album, they were expecting a battling MC... Minority gave the album 0/5 lyrics... first off... lyrics dont need to be tongue twisters... some of the dopest lyrics to ever grace Hip Hop came from a man called Slick Rick and he was anything but an MC... lyrics can deal with content just as much as delivery... if you want an MC... listen to Mista Grimm... he's all over the damn CD and he stands out so much... I never heard a Grimm verse until this album and he simply took full advantage... I think Grimm himself puts the lyrics in this album... I think that's why Warren wanted to use him too... He knows he is not an MC, so he gets someone who is and his delivery is straight fire... Warren's content and ideas are simply deep... I listened to the song Ghetto Village like 10 straight times and I still learn more... no CD has done that for me since NWA... when you put words together and you're left un-puzzling his verse, you know it's good... Warren's production is up to my expectations... I was expecting Gfunk and I got it... it's my favorite sound around and he delivered it.... then there are the hookmakers.... Butch, Nate, Kokane and Clinton... you can't find better... it seems like most people here just skimmed the tracks and skipped to the next... this album is so deep, so dope, so fresh I can't speak on it anymore... I should buy this album for everyone in my family... it is that dope...

You a disgrace! :-/
What a bitch!

"The problem is IRC! Releasing it 2 months ago. That's all. Cause the album is better than half of the albums that are from position 1 to 88. "
MIRC IS NOT THE PROBLEM for Warren g's new album...in fact nas new album was on MIRC(400.000 copies the first week),
Jay z's blueprint was on mirc and all the albums from other artists were on mirc.
The problem for this album is the quality.....NOT MIRC!
-
"if you want an MC... listen to Mista Grimm... "
Ok,Mista Grimm is tight....but this is a warren g's album,and i don't give a fuck if he's tight....'cause IT'S THE WARREN G ALBUM,u know what i'm sayin?
I don't wanna buy an album for the featurings, but for the quality of the ARTIST.
I think that KNOCK'S LANDIN will be much better than this album....Knock-turn'al destroy Warren g on evry point of view
-
What the fuck are you talking about?? LMAO! It's like comparing R.Kelly to Nas, man!
They totally different! LMAO @ your post, man!! For real, this is one of the funniest post i've ever seen here! Shit.. why dont u compare 2Pac to Warren G? LOL! Ohh... wait! What about Destiny's Child vs The Lady Of Rage?
C'mon man.. you obviously are a "new" (non)fan of Warren G. I BET $100000000... on it! Cause if u knew Warren G... damn! He aint a lyricis. He aint a real MC. He's more a narrator. He made G-Funk, a new style of Rap. He introduced Snoop in the game, he formed 213, he produced and launched what i consider the best album ever (THE TWINZ's one), and he even executive produced a R&B album (REEL TIGHT). He launched a R&B artist like Jessica, he even made tracks with Bee Gees and Sissel. WTF are you talking about? Are u trying to compare G Dubb to Knock-turn'al? This fool just made 2 good tracks, man! (i dont even like em, but that's not the point). Dont even try to do it. It's like comparing Aretha Franklin with Alicia Keys. Dont joke. If you a new fan, deserve some respect to the man who made Rap.
Like half of the board is trying to tell you, Warren aint a lyricist. He's one of the tightest producer in the game (my fav one, afta Dre. But they totally different styles). I bet you love Tha Eastsidaz's BIG BANG THEORY beat, uh? Well.. Warren G produced it. Just to show u something recent you might know (cause u obviously dont even know who Jah-Skillz is!). It's funny when i read: MY REVIEWS - BEATS 5/5, LYRICS 0/5. WTF?? Yeah, that's Warren G. And that's why he got a lot of collaborations on his cd. Cause he just made hot beats and rap a lil on em. It's like Dre.
What about Dre? Lyrics -1/5, Beats 6/5.
How can u say that Dre sucks cause he aint a good lyricist? Why dont u say the same to Dr.Dre's 2001? Cause we know who wrote half of his rymes. But this shit is classic, no matter what!
LMAO! It's like comparing Dr.Dre to Chino XL, man! WTF?
-
::) ::)"he formed 213" ::)

WARREN G IS THE MAN WHO MADE RAP?
It's a joke...ok,it's funny.
AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH
U ARE ON WARREN G'S NUTZ TOO MUCH :D
-
History lessions for you!
1) He formed 213, yes! Shut up if u dont know shit. Just listen to tracks like "DO YOU SEE", "FRIENDS", etc.. He made em when Snoop was in & out from jail (Snoop was a drug dealer, a fool), and Nate was just kicked out from Navy. They were friends and Warren told em: "Why dont we make money with music instead that selling drugs and visiting our homies in jail once a week?". So they made a tape (the infamous 213 Demo Tape) and Warren forced Dre to play it in a party. He asked Dre thousands of time to give him and his lil friends a chance and finally, in 1992, Dre made the Chronic and he let em join Death Row (actually... Warren didnt signed). So... he formed 213, yeah. LOL AGAIN!
2) "Are u trying to compare G Dubb to Knock-turn'al?" Y E S.
Man.. read again my last post. If u still so dumb... i call me out. U too much for my balls. Too ignorant to see the difference.
3) WARREN G IS THE MAN WHO MADE RAP? Yeah, i was comparing him to Knock. Once again, it's obvious that you dont even know him, so shut the fuck. I think you are making yourself a fool now. He sold more than 8 millions of CDs in his career. And he executive produced other 5 albums, r&b and rap. He even worked on he production of The Chronic and Doggystyle, of Mista Grimm and Snoop, Nate and 2Pac.. So.. if u dont know him... it's your fault. LMAO at you comparing him to Knock.
About me dickriding.. naw......... it's just you showing how ignorant you are (i'm talking about rap). ;D
-
i agree 100% with every single point coz they are all proven facts..

That's ridiculous... Dr. Dre is famous for this... Dr. Dre makes solo albums, but then lets his production shine on it.... he has true rappers and word players shine with lyrics.... look at all his hits... almost everyone of his solo hits has a featured guest who can rip it on the MC... Whether it's Snoop, Eminem, Knoc-Turnal, Devin, Xzibit, ... the list goes on .... I hope you hate Dr. Dre just as much as you hate Warren...

Hey,CAMPIONE,your dear Warren g was a drug dealer too....
and I'M PRETTY SURE THAT HE 'S NOT THE MAN WHO MADE THE RAP...U ARE I G N O R A N T ABOUT RAP HISTORY,VERY IGNORANT ;)

Warren G Regulate... A G Funk Era 3 000 000

I don't hate nobody(only antonio),i don't like warren g after his second album :P
-
First of all you in error again! Lemme explain..
Warren G was a drug dealer?? Maybe. But i'm not wrong saying that Snoop was really famous for being a real drug dealer, while i've never heard about Warren selling drugs. But it's possible. I dont understand why u turning on me, LOL! I never said he wasnt. LOL!
About the fact that you are "pretty sure" that he's not the man who made rap between him & Knock.. well.. do i need to comment it? Naw...
About the 8 millions... check this interview he made some weeks ago:
ThaFormula.com - You sold them like 7 million records didn't you?
Warren G - It was 8 million...
Just check it, moron. At www.thaformula.com
Who's the ignorant, fool?
About u hating me.. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who are you? Hahahahahah.. C'mon.. everybody claps your hands for this fool! He deserves it!
BTW THIS FOOL IS C_R_O_N_I_C_I AGAIN (THE ITALIAN FOOL WHO IS HATING ON ME CAUSE I'M REPPIN WARREN G), WITH HIS 192th NICKNAME USED IN THIS BOARD! LMAO! HAHAHAHAHAHA..
-
haha.. i think this is hopeless... he'll alawys come back wit a new name.... fuck him.. ill ignore him from now on thats it
-
haha.. i think this is hopeless... he'll alawys come back wit a new name.... fuck him.. ill ignore him from now on thats it
Actually i'm ignoring him.. I just wrote the truth about Warren G... u know.. he's so ignorant that doesnt even know what he's talking about (lmao @ Warren selling 4 millions, or @ Knock being an OG in the game...). I think that he's just a fool in the eyes of all the board, trying to talk shit about me & Warren G when he doesnt even know us. LMAO! This shit is SO FUNNY! And the funniest thing is that i never dissed him, LMAO! So i really cant understand why he's turning on me, LMAO! In such a pathetic way! Showing how ignorant he is. The only thing i know is that he hates Warren G (he said Warren wasnt cool with him when he went in Italy, LMAO!).. and probably he's hating on me cause i'm repping him. LMAO! Did he fucked your bitch or what? Relax, man.. Get a life! This is music. U dont have to hate some1 behind a PC. Or because of his music. If he fucked your bitch i understand you, but.. damn.. if he didnt... why you so fool? Please explain! I'm curious! ;D

Seriously do you think one of the greatest storytellers ever in Slick Rick is comparable to Warren G who while a great producer is garbage lyrically? I mean come on Ricky D is one of the Top 10 emcees ever kid. Sorry if I misunderstood you, because saying Rick isn't an emcee is laughable, maybe you should pick up "The Great Adventures of Slick Rick."

Why bring up Slick Rick is a discussion about Warren G? It seemed to be implying that they were similar in some way. Its like bringing up Warren G is a discussion about Swizz Beats. Enlighten Me.
-
I brought it up because people were telling me that Warren's lyrics weak on this album, yet... Slick Rick in my opinion is a lot like him... Slick is a great story teller, but his lyrics are laid back like Warren's yet he is considered a Hip Hop great... basically my point was that you dont need to murder the alphabet to get respect...

Alright I feel what your saying then. But what I've always thought what Warren should do is mainly produce and rhyme occasionally like a Pete Rock & CL Smooth situation, where he produces a whole album spits on 3 or 4 song and someone else kills all the rest of the tracks.
