Title: Transfer Deadline Day Thread
Post by: On The Edge of Insanity on August 31, 2006, 02:17:38 AM
Thought we may as well have one thread for this,

Big news so far is it looks like West Ham have captured Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano on loan from Corinthians for the season, which is a massive coup for them.

Other than that it looks like Andy Cole to Portsmouth is the only other transfer pretty much confirmed so far.

Obviously yesterday Woodgate and Huth moved to Boro.

Holy jesus you're right that is a GIGANTIC coup by West Ham if they pull it off (or already have)

Glad we've added a bit of creativity to midfield, even though he is out for 10 weeks. Routledge is just a season long loan to Fulham.

Apparantly we are likely to conclude deals for Chimbonda (permanately) and Martin Petrov (on loan) before the end of the window.

Things have been suprisingly quiet for most of the big teams so far though.

I boldy state rumour, that Ronaldo is on his way to Milan for talks.

I can't see it happening to be honest, even Moratti said it's unlikely.

i think he´s going to Inter. they want him, and Ronaldo wanna play there. if he signs with Milan then his life in Milano is gonna be like living in hell.

Oh yeah, it will be Inter if anyone, especially since Milan wrapped up the signing of Oliveira from Real Betis.

just in: Wigan have accepted a bid from Spurs for Pascal Chimbonda..

Was kinda suprised Milan have bought Oliveira, he hardly set the world alight for Betis or Valencia before that.

Mascherano and Tevez have signed PERMANENT contracts with West Ham Utd.

Yeah, just saw this, I'm shocked to be honest. Nowhere seems to be indicating the fee involved though. Must be at least 30mil pounds for the pair I would think.

Their website said an undisclosed fee, and no details on the contracts will be reveiled.

The deals a bit fishy to me, but at least West Ham fans can enjoy the two for at least one season.

I'm being a pessimist here, but it could be that Chelsea have funded the move, and West Ham is the ideal environment for the duo to become settled in England.

Afterall, Mourinho was hotly linked with Tevez earlier in the season, and Mascherano is the perfect replacement for the ageing Claude Makelele.

Another theory, is that MSI could have moved these players to West Ham for a minimal fee, and will look to take-over West Ham Utd over the current season.

It certainly doesn't seem like a staight forward transfer, but whatever theory you want to believe, the truth is it's an amazing capture for West Ham Utd.

It seems all the rumours point to MSI (the company who owns the players) launching a takeover of West Ham with these transfers of being in exchange for shares in West Ham. They will obviously they have the buy the remaining shares required to have a majority shareholding on top of the amount they have received today.

Theres def. sumfin goin on with this MSI company and the transfers 2 West Ham. I mean Tevez & Mascherano hav had United, Chelsea & Arsenal chasin them and they signed 4 West Ham!

From what I can tell, MSI owned the rights 2 the players so they negotiated the deal with West Ham, so it seems likely that they will b tryin 2 take WHU over!

Looks like Reyes & Baptista are swapping clubs between Arsenal & Read Madrid on season long loans with the options of permanant deals at the end of the season.

Portsmouth have got Rodolph Douala on loan for the season, and Newcastle have bought in Antoine Sibierski from Man City.

Oh, and forgot to add we've got another American in the league as Man City have got DaMarcus Beasley on loan from PSV for the season.

Tevez and Mascherano is a major coup for West Ham...considering the clubs who were interested in them...all the big names...great deal for West Ham...the season should be very interesting...wonder what the full story is...

Dutch transfer news:

- Kluivert, Tardelli(loan) & Kromkamp to PSV.
- Charisteas(ajax's 5th striker) to Feyenoord. The Feyenoord supporters came to the stadium to protest against the transfer policy of the board of directors.
