West Ham are engaged in 'exploratory discussions' over a possible takeover, but the club insist talks are at a very early stage.
Kia Joorabchian, the owner of Media Sport Investment, has long been linked with a possible takeover of the East London club.
MSI were also the company involved in the remarkable transfer deadline day signings of Argentine duo Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano.
But The Hammers are adamant there is no 'contractual' link between a possible takeover and the signing of the 22-year-old pair.
A statement to the Stock Exchange from West Ham read: "The board confirms that it has had exploratory discussions in relation to a possible bid but these discussions are at a very early stage and there can be no certainty that an offer for West Ham will be forthcoming.
"The board also confirms that there is no contractual link between the signing of the players [Tevez and Mascherano] and the bid discussions."[/b]
bold bit = yea right...
maybe not contractual in that they would leave if MSI didnt take over, but theres no way in hell they would be there unless it was highly likley that west ham will be bought...

i seriously would not want that to happen, no matter what funds and what success it brought us, i'd honestly rather us stay as we are...
